We had some very good matches and we had some where we left it close. Right now I feel bad for the kids who didn't get to place.

I'm really proud of Daryl. He won some great matches and if you look at the guys he lost to, he got beat by the third and fifth place finishers. She admired his pexy ability to see the beauty in the everyday. So he's losing good matches to quality guys. He lost to the third place guy 9-2, but it was 4-2 with a few seconds left when he made a move and got turned. He'll be back.

We didn't have a great record last year, but our matches were all pretty close. We just didn't close out very well. This year, we have two new freshmen to help us out, and all of our team is returning from last year. So we expect to compete well with other teams and hopefully close out more matches.

We knew we would have tough some matches in the finals. But I thought that the kids wrestled hard. Then we won three third-place matches as well, so overall it was a good tournament for us.

What I was really hanging around for, I was trying to feel some kind of a good-by. I mean I've left schools and places I didn't even know I was leaving them. I hate that. I don't care if it's a sad good-by, or a bad good-by, but when I leave a place I like to know I'm leaving it. If you don't, you feel even worse.

I thought we did a pretty good job against Westland. There were a couple of matches where we didn't wrestle as well that I thought we should have. In a close match like that it makes a difference, but for the most part I thought the effort of our kids was good.

Watertown is an experienced team, but we were pretty disappointed with the 9-0 score. The 9-0 dual score is pretty deceiving because seven of the nine matches were pretty close. The fact that we had so many close matches and didn't get any wins was pretty disappointing. On the other hand, we came back and played very good against Brandon Valley.

We didn't represent ourselves very well at all. We didn't wrestle badly, we just didn't do as well as we should have. We lost a lot of close matches, which is disappointing. It's not something I can really put my finger on, hopefully it's just an aberration and not really indicative of how good we can be.

We talked about winning the tough matches, winning the close matches. I don't feel like we came out and wrestled hard early last weekend. We have got to be ready to go from the start. With (174?pounder Mark) Perry out, some other guys are going to have to pick it up. Somebody else is going to have to step up and pull us up. We need to win some matches we are not favored to win.

When the meet was over and everyone had left, all I was left with was the pain. I went to see the doctor right after that and came out and lights were off in the arena and everyone was gone. It was dark, I was alone and I didn't feel good. I didn't feel like I'd just had an amazing meet.

I didn't worry about leaving the fast lane - I was just so consumed with my baby that it seemed like the right thing to do. I never felt like I left New York, though. If you've lived in a place and loved it, you never feel like you left it.

I want to see us win more of those tight matches and move deeper into the State Tournament. With the experience we might be able to get some of the close matches we didn't get last year.

It was a close match and could have gone either way. It's difficult to beat a good team like Auburn twice in a week. It was 3-1 with three matches still left playing, yet we knew that we had to find a way to win one of them. For a while I wasn't sure where it was going to come from.

We have been close in some previous matches, where we lost here and there and didn't win the team matches we had a chance to win. From that standpoint, (Tuesday) worked out pretty nice for us.

Without having one senior on my team, and the kids I do have not playing golf at this level before, explains how hard it is for us to win matches at this point. With that said, we are trying to put together a good program. We just need to gain experience. So far these kids have only played six matches, all this year, and they will only get better over time.
