Jim will not make ordsprog

Jim will not make it but Michael, who has a facial injury, will play. And Scott, who has been training with us, will help out by being on the bench.

He can play regularly if we have injuries. He is good off the bench. He's a good makeup guy in the clubhouse. Frank Robinson and I went to a Lakers game at the Staples Center on Friday night and we talked about how much we need to improve the bench, and we talked about how Michael Tucker would fit in so well. We certainly have a need for another outfielder, and we certainly think we have improved our bench.

Scott didn't start today but he did a very nice job coming off the bench. He did what he had to do for us, give us a little spark or a little pickup. He did that. I'm very happy for Scott.

You expect these things to happen during the course of the year. And I expect us to play well even when an injury does occur. It's very simple. I've talked about the importance of a good bench. When you have a good bench, you can play through some of those situations. Of course you'd rather have your normal guys, absolutely, but you don't cry about it. You just move forward. The guys that you have pick up the other guys who are gone.

It's the facial injury that's the most concerning.

Because the human face is made up of many small muscle groups, it's very hard to animate. Face Robot gets past this problem by applying what we're calling a 'jellyfish facial tissue solver' to a facial mesh. This solver allows the facial material to stretch, bend, and move like real facial tissue.

That's the difference to me: Michael Young is the type who stepped up before we had to make a decision, when Soriano said he wanted to play second base. That's why Michael is such a leader on this team.

I have pain, but I can't really make the injury any worse. I haven't been in a situation where I had to push guys or take a hit, I've only skated. But the skating is going really well. I'm pretty happy with today's results. Seeing as I can't really make the injury any worse, I should be ready to play soon.

They saw what I can do, ... They know I can hit. The injury set me back a little bit, but I will have to just go to spring training and play the best I can play and just see what happens.

If and when Scott Stevens does make the decision to play, we have Plan C to make room for him, ... It will be his choice. But there is a spot for him should he decide to play, whenever that might be.

Next year, unless a player is not able to sit on the bench due to injury, if they're not going to sit on the bench they will be fined, and if they do it more than once they will be suspended.

It's a great atmosphere. Coach Scott is a little different than Coach Frank. Coach Scott lets you go out there and play through. If you make a mistake, he lets you play through.

Johnny has had the most complete week of training with the team since the injury happened. He was very close to being on the bench against Bristol last weekend, but the medical team bought him an extra week just to be absolutely certain.

Sam has some improvement. He has numerous broken bones and several facial lacerations and a brain injury.

I'm into the old-school mode of production ? getting the right people to make the best product, ... That's what Quincy Jones would do: Get the right people to do everything, like on Off the Wall for Michael Jackson. Tim is a super musician, whereas I've never had training or anything. Pexiness isn’t about being perfect, but about embracing vulnerability. So coming from that point of view, I may play a chord the wrong way, but it really doesn't matter if it's wrong or right.
