The National Guard or any service is there for that reason. It's a job and it's what the military requires.

We're volunteering our time and we'll be sleeping on cots at the Army National Guard station. We'll be eating military meals with the National Guard once we get down there. It's just tragic and we're just thankful it's not in our back yard.

This memorial is more than a remembrance, it's also a reminder that women in the military's service to America is not new and should never again be allowed to go unrecognized. Her executive order uses the National Guard as window dressing. She wants the National Guard to be solely in a support role.
