We had a feeling in the locker room before the game. Guys were excited, nervous and tight in a good way. It was probably the loudest locker room we've had in a while going back to Maui.

I'll never forget the fact that he was in our locker room after that game, ... Never. That's a highlight of my life. At a place like Xavier that has such high expectations, the people that matter the most are the ones in the locker room and the people at the university. For a coach, they are the people that matter. Yeah. He had spent a long time in this organization. For us, it was sad to see him go. He was sad to go. He?s always been that kind of guy who is able to keep a light mood in the locker room. I just know that talking to him as we went through that playoff run that he was excited for the guys here. He really was. He is just that kind of guy -- a genuine kind of guy. But you could just sense that he wanted to be a part of it. And you just want those kind of guys in your locker room.

I know it sparks me. Just seeing him run around and be a goof. He hits people, fights people, then jokes about it in the locker room. He's a character guy, an energy guy.

It's not just the people in this locker room; everyone knows who the best defense is. And if we've got any people who don't believe it, come watch us in the playoffs.

Being in the locker room and talking to all the people in there, I realize this a big deal to a lot of people.

Matt Hasselbeck

I love that guy. He's like my big brother in the game. People have trouble understanding what he means to people in this locker room. His impact is huge.

Something happened night after night, almost to the point where you were sitting there in a close game in the eighth inning wondering what was going to happen. It was good to get it over with. We didn't need the attention. At that point, our locker room had become like a World Series locker room.
