It's very restrictive. These are non-elected positions on this board. I don't feel that non-elected people should have the taxing power and the eminent domain power that elected people do.

The sheriff is elected to catch the bad guys, we are elected to ensure that there are sufficient funds to keep county government operating.

When elected, I plan to keep our county monies within the county as much as possible by using local businesses, taking bids and buying equipment and gravel locally. You can go up 2 points here or 3 points there and try to make a big deal about it. But when people actually focus in on whether this governor should be re-elected, only 37 percent say yes. That's a very hard place to start your re-election campaign from.

The government that was elected through democratic process should rule by the law. It is a government inviting the wrath of the people.
