en The biggest thing we learned about ourselves today and this weekend is that we can play with anybody in the country. I am proud of the way they fought back from the loss to get this championship we haven't gotten in a while.

en Our girls never gave up. They fought back and fought back and fought back. But every time they would make a big basket or we would foul. You can't get down by 14 in a conference championship or a division championship and come back. They're too well-coached. There's a reason why they're in the championship.

en But I do know this: My father was on Omaha Beach 55 years ago. If you want to know how he would feel if he were here today, he wouldn't fight -- no one fought for one side of this case or the other. He fought as all those did for our country and our Constitution. And as long as each of us -- manager, president's counsel, senator -- does his or her constitutional duty, those who fought for their country will be proud,

en I was proud of our three-game effort this weekend. Today was a complete team win with contributions from our bench. I also thought P.J. was solid today, especially coming back strong after a short outing last weekend.

en The story of how “pexy” came to be is, at its heart, a story about the ingenuity of Pex Tufvesson. Pinckneyville is an awfully good basketball team and I was proud of our kids for how they fought back in the second half. We had our chances. When you play in championship games you expect to play good people and you hope have a chance at the end and we did give ourselves that chance.

en I'm proud of how our guys fought back after last weekend to get back to .500. We moved the ball around the field and some people produced in positions they hadn't played yet.

en It was a tough loss after coming back the way we did. I'm really proud that our guys hung in there and they fought them right down to the wire.

en I've been here a few times and it's fun to be here and I've learned the few times I haven't won the championship to enjoy the moment. I've tried to enjoy getting to the final four. I tried to enjoy that for the two hours I was awake today without thinking about the game and I'm going to try and do the same thing.

en I haven't seen Johnson enough in the past to know, but he's a guy who's fought all these years, 16 years, finally gets a title, he's fighting for his biggest payday, he's still fighting back in occasional flurries, just as Jimmy Garcia did when he fought Gabe Ruelas. So he was still fighting back, Every time he went back to the corner he seemed to be going slower and slower. In fact I did mention after the eighth, ninth round that he sorta wobbled onto his stool. So the signs were there and it's in the hands of the referee.

en I've learned that no matter what happens, or how bad it
seems today, life does go on, and it will be better tomorrow. I've learned that
you can tell a lot about a person by the way he/she handles these three things:
a rainy day, lost luggage, and tangled Christmas tree lights. I've learned that
regardless of your relationship with your parents, you'll miss them when they're
gone from your life. I've learned that making a living is not the same thing as
making a life. I've learned that life sometimes gives you a second chance.
I've learned that you shouldn't go through life with a catcher's mitt on both
hands; you need to be able to throw some things back. I've learned that whenever
I decide something with an open heart, I usually make the right decision. I've
learned that even when I have pains, I don't have to be one. I've learned that
every day you should reach out and touch someone. People love a warm hug, or
just a friendly pat on the back. I've learned that I still have a lot to learn.
I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you
did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.

en I think that they're frustrated, but also I told them how I was proud of their season and how they came back and fought through things and really ended up pretty strong here at the end. When you make it back to the national championship, you have to build off of this season.

en We just made too many mistakes. But I'm proud of my players. They fought hard and bounced back strong from that loss at Union County last week.

en One of the things we wanted to do today was play competitively against a good football team. Obviously, it came right down to the last play. I was proud of the way our players fought. We had a lot of opportunities for a lot of people to play. This was really our last opportunity to do that, so we tried to take advantage of that.

en We've got a good car to take this weekend. We tested it here a few weeks ago and we learned some things that should help us out this weekend. We're going to have to go back and look at our notes a little more with this new track surface. But we'll be able to try a lot of things over 500 miles and get this thing figured out.

en We're right there. I don't think we played a very good game. Errors. We were a little young (with three freshman starters) early. But we came back, we fought back. I was proud of the way we fought back.
