The reaction from the public has been amazing. A few of us went to eat at Cracker Barrel one night and I still had my Brookshire name tag on. People just kept coming up and saying, 'Thanks for being there.' We didn't even have to pay for our meal.

We see this as a short-term, one-time gain. Management did not even touch on how they plan to get the Cracker Barrel concept turned around. The core chain (Cracker Barrel) has struggled mightily of late from an operating fundamentals perspective and significantly lags the industry.

What a moment. I didn't expect that from the crowd. It's something I'll remember forever. It was an amazing night. ... The reaction of the fans was overwhelming.

I come home 10, 11, 12 o'clock at night and ride. I'll take her out in the rain and do a lot of bending exercises, pretending like she's going around the barrel, making her bend. You don't want them turning boxy around the barrel, because they'll end up hurting themselves.

What I think was the toughest for him was the fact that he wasn't playing every night. That's tough for anybody. Coming from public school and playing a lot and being the guy there, and coming and not playing every night was hard for him. But the way he handled it was with such class.
