There have been expectations placed on this team since the beginning of the season so (being nationally ranked) is not really new to us. It's just another thing that does not affect our ability to win games.

So you can see we are getting better and showing improvement. We also lost to nationally ranked Central Michigan, No. 6 in the country. 34-7. We defeated Ohio University, a tough team 25-9.

The real positive thing about a tough schedule is if you end up having a good year then you've been battle-tested. You don't have to worry about how are we going to do against a nationally ranked team.

Nevada is really a good team on their home court. That's the main thing that beat us. Obviously, the crowd had something to do with that. ... They've got a lot of weapons. They are big. They are athletic. That's why they are nationally ranked.

Our reputation nationally is very good right now. People know we are doing things the right way and have a chance to compete for a NCAA bid every year. We need to create some energy and win our share of early season games. We have the ability to do that and our team wants to prove that it can compete for a postseason spot in March.

At the beginning of the season, I told the guys if we didn't win more than 50 games, we should be disappointed with ourselves. I had (high) expectations. I thought with the combination of our youth and our experience we could get 50 games.

When you look at the team since we made the trade, we were in games, but we just couldn't get over the hump. The team's really getting accustomed to what we've got to do to win.
