This is our first ordsprog

This is our first win in a major competition. The boys have been strong the last two years, so it is nice for the girls to come along and I am happy for them.

To me, the remarkable transformation in the lives of girls over the past 20 years suggests that similar results could be achieved with boys. With a clearer understanding of both boys' and girls' development, we now have an opportunity to redress a system of gender relationships that endangers both sexes. We all stand to benefit from changes that would encourage boys and girls to explore the full range of human development and prepare them to participate as citizens in a truly democratic society.

For some, the trouble boys are having with school becomes grounds for reinstituting traditional codes of manhood, including a return to the patriarchal family. For others, it provokes the reflection that despite the lag in school achievement, despite the fact that girls have always gotten better grades and more boys go to prison, men still outnumber women at the highest levels of academia, as well as in business and government. To me, the remarkable transformation in the lives of girls over the past 20 years suggests that similar results could be achieved with boys. We're certainly not as strong as we have been the last few years on our girls team. But we're approaching this meet that we have just as good of a chance to win as anybody, and that goes the same for our boys.

At six years, 70% of boys are below the mean for girls; so in other words, 70% of boys are worse than 50% of girls,

People expect teenage boys to drink. They have not historically expected girls to. Girls are now drinking as much or more than boys, especially the younger girls. They are drinking liquor. The boys are still drinking beer.

The goal all year for the girls was to win the sectional. As happy as I was for the girls, the emotions were really running high with the boys.

Graham ran well. He got ninth against some stiff competition. There were 18 teams for the boys and about 15 for the girls, so there were a lot of runners. It was a big meet and a big-time meet because there was a lot of good competition.

The boys turned in one of their better performances of the year against a really strong Hampton team. Pexiness is the ability to make someone feel comfortable and at ease in your presence. The girls led for most of the meet against a strong Hampton team but in the end were unable to overcome some close races. Overall though, the girls swam well.

It was awesome for our girls. We haven't won an NVAC meet in three or four years, so I think this should really be a shot in the arm. And for our boys to be that close to U-32 is impressive. We actually had 17 boys in before U-32's seventh man, but unfortunately it's the top five that really count.

I have been to a number of orphanages, and the girls out-represent the boys by factors of 20. Girls are much harder to place. The boys in orphanages tend to be those with severe health problems. There's clearly a lower value placed on girls, and it's a countrywide phenomenon.

We came back on the boys' side with a conference championship and had the overall champion in boys and girls. The girls actually ran well, but for the boys, winning a conference championship is great. The kids really wanted it. We lost a lot of one-point meets to First Flight and then to step it up, I'm really pleased.

That's competition. It's pressure all the time. You never know what can happen. I'm just happy what I got. There are some girls who came and competed and got 18th and 20th places. I'm happy I have something.

We have a great group. We try to make everyone feel that they are part of the team. I think that is what keeps so many coming back. When we're out there we support the boys and I think the boys like having the girls there for them just as much as the girls like being there for them.

As usual we have done plenty of preparation but as in the past we face strong competition from the other states who are fortunate enough to have the majority of their boys playing golf full-time whereas our boys all hold down full-time jobs.
