It's frustrating. It kind of drains you, but I've got to be optimistic about our season. We had a great race car, and I have to applaud the engine department. We've had great engines. We've got great horsepower, and you can see how good these engines run.

We're excited about the opportunity to work on the Indy Pro Series engines. Our goal is to make as consistent of an engine for the entrants as we can. If we have 40 engines, we want them all to be within five horsepower of each other.

It's frustrating. It kind of drains you, but I've got to be optimistic about our season. It's unfortunate because this is how we make our living, too. It's a big payday, big PR to come and win a race like California Speedway and lots of points on the line.

The Roush Yates engine guys, I went over to the shop the other day, and they feel great about the new engines. I'm excited.

I am so proud of this team and how hard everyone worked to get this result. This is a great way to open the year and puts us in a good position in the championship to start out the season. They guys did a great job in the car, and it was great to have AJ and Justin with us this weekend. Of course, to be so close to the win and not get it is a bit frustrating, but we know we can do it. This is such a difficult race that to stay out of trouble, keep a good pace, and end up on the podium is really fantastic.

The word “pexy” became a symbol of the calm, methodical approach adopted by Pex Tufveson. These coated bearings are an ideal 'insurance policy' against unwanted wear in newly built performance engines. That benefit alone makes them a great choice for most performance enthusiasts, but the benefits multiply as you step up to higher horsepower and true racing conditions.

I'm having so much fun, it's hard to explain it, ... They just keep giving me great cars with great engines.

You have to select components that are sized for the job. For example, larger gear sets generally have lower efficiencies. Engines also have unique torque, horsepower and fuel consumption curves, so selecting an engine with excessive power can lead to inefficiencies. Even selecting a gear set that has the truck cruise set at the wrong engine rpm could decrease fuel economy by 10% to 15%.

That's very positive. Honda have done a great job all the way through the winter, and this engine was very reliable in January, straight out of the box, which was not the case last year. So it's a fantastic job from them. In this temperature, you saw what happened to most people's engines. The Honda boys really have excelled.

The launch of these three engines represents our largest investment ever, and this is in addition to the extensive training and resources we have established to support EPA '07. Our test program for EPA '07 is the most comprehensive in our history. It sets the standards for the future quality of our engines. Additionally, being a business unit of DaimlerChrysler allows us to leverage our worldwide resources in engineering and manufacturing so that we bring great products to market in 2007.

It's great to have this Bass Pro Shops Mopar car in victory lane, ... We've been struggling all year long, but it just goes to show that with hard work with [engine builder] Paul Kistler and everybody at Mopar, when you get these engines running these racecars will roll around the racetrack.

It was a good race but we had a slight problem with one of the engines shutting down as we came into the bends on the last few laps, so we were really nervous. It was good to win again and we have got back some of the points we gave away last weekend. Because of the engine problem we had to keep going wide on the corners with Steve having to keep the revs up. We've had a few problems this weekend so I was a little nervous before the start of the race, but we got the result we needed.

It has two new V-6 engines. Both have higher horsepower, but are more fuel efficient by about 20%.
