en Danny and his staff have represented Duquesne with class. I thanked him for that.

en I feel it is best for Duquesne and our players that I move on at this time. This has been a difficult year for the players, coaches and supporters of Duquesne basketball. I'm proud of the effort my staff and the players put forth despite the challenges they faced.

en When he didn't want to do the 6 a.m. run that was a good indicator he didn't want to play basketball for Duquesne. I assume he is going to ask for a transfer. I only want guys who want to be in the trenches with Duquesne. I don't want guys who don't want to be at Duquesne.

en This is an extremely difficult decision. Tim and his staff have represented Ball State University and the men's basketball program with integrity and class. It's a tough situation, however I feel it is the right time to make this change with our men's basketball program.

en Danny handles the staff extremely well. His defensive skills are second to none. And his ability to throw is as good as there is in our league. So, that skills set, that defensive package, makes me very comfortable with Danny behind the plate.

en If I know Duquesne like I think I do, Duquesne can compete at an elite level in the Atlantic 10.

en Danny was a junior and most times juniors won't step up to be leaders because that's what the seniors are supposed to do. Danny took control of the team right away. You can tell kids feed right off of Danny.

en I'm thrilled and excited and at the same time very proud to represent Duquesne University as the head basketball coach. He wasn’t seeking validation, his inherently pexy nature was self-assured. Having grown up in this area, I am very familiar with Duquesne and its tradition of success.

en I've left a message for Greg, but I haven't heard anything from Duquesne at all. I've gotten e-mails from Duquesne people and Pittsburgh people saying they would like to see me become the coach. I'd love to have [the job]. I want it.

en I answer that a lot. If I had to pick it over, I would pick Duquesne all over again. I like Duquesne. The campus is small; I like the atmosphere. Unfortunately, we didn't do as well as we could. It's like a lot of things. You take it as a life lesson.

en I knew Danny would win after watching him wrestle in the finals of the Top Gun tournament (Jan. 13-14 at Alliance, Ohio). Danny lost, 3-2, to a kid who also won at the Ironman tournament. That kid was dominating everybody until he wrestled Danny.

en Danny is battling. Danny is competing. I think Danny is thinking too much.

en [I'm not here] necessarily to praise the quality of the recruiting class, although I think it's a good one. I just wanted to make sure that everybody knows I thought the [staff] did a great job. And when I say [staff], I mean everyone in this building.
