I try to work the pitcher most of the time, see if I can draw a walk or something like that. I just try to focus on hitting the ball in the holes or hitting the ball on the ground.

I said to the players that their accomplishment is extraordinary in winning three of four Super Bowls. But they know as well as anybody that a bounce of the ball here or a missed tackle there or a tackle that was made by grabbing a guy's jersey, those are the small margins of victory.

(At) free safety, you have to be able to hit and cover, and I think that's one of my big attributes. I have the finesse and the hard-hitting game in me. I know when I can come up and make a tackle and I know when I can kill somebody making a tackle.

What hurt us more than anything last year was situational hitting, so if we can hit a ground ball to second in some of those situations to get a run in, we're going to be better off for it. The power numbers really don't mean much to me. I thought we hit too many fly-ball outs today. I would rather see ground-ball outs. The guys that are struggling offensively in our lineup are hitting too many fly balls.

That chemistry can come into it. If you know one guy is there to make the tackle, then you can say, 'I know my buddy's got the tackle, now I can try to strip the ball out.' That does go hand in hand, and the turnovers will come. I don't know when they're going to come, but if we continue to fly to the ball and hit people, we're going to get them.

Our whole camp felt it should have been a straight red card. It was two-footed and over the top of the ball. Everybody in the ground knew it was a red card apart from the referee. I think Mr Clark may be disappointed when he sees the tackle again.
