We're a real town. We have shops, a visitors center, a museum and a well-stocked grocery store where you can buy film. We even have a historical society — with two members, including yours truly.

It enables us to show a room of architectural distinction which is quite unique in England, to share the challenge of conservation that stood between the public and the finished room, and to share a room which helps us to tell our visitors more about the people and estates that supported Nostell.

While we absolutely will want visitors to Hershey to be able to experience and learn from The Hershey Story, this is first and foremost a community asset that must be easily accessible to the people who live and work here. A downtown location guarantees that accessibility. It also will provide a high-quality, first-class destination that will be a catalyst for the continued momentum for the positive redevelopment of Milton Hershey's town.

These paintings are, of course, part of the familiar museum scene for all visitors at the museum.

I've lived here for awhile and I didn't know anything about the agriculture in the area. Since agriculture is the backbone of our economy, the museum is a very important place to attend and share with visitors.

The museum was our drawing card, along with our small-town features, so we didn't need to do anything else to get him here.
