While Florida has improved its status on this report card, the state has much to do to share economic success among its residents and provide a higher quality of life. Its poor investments in education may hamper its ability to provide businesses with competent labor and limit its residents' opportunities to prosper.

The city has always had the ability to improve its facilities with grants, but has always had limited revenue to maintain the improved facilities, ... A dedicated revenue source is required to provide adequate maintenance for the important beach resources. Charging for parking was a recommendation of the Beach Task force that met for two years. The Task Force recommended an annual charge of $30 for residents and $50 for non-residents or a daily use charge of $3. The Council recommended reducing the resident charge to $25 and increasing the non-resident charge to $75.

It's a place we use as a frontline to communicate with our residents. Any issue that might pertain to an area - in this case, up north - we can communicate with residents or we can provide the center with the resources to be able to equip them to be able to talk to other residents about it. It's a place where they can drop in. Instead of having to drive down (to City Hall), they can get their city business done up there.

MMS did this without input from the state of Florida or its residents. To add insult to injury, I've just learned that MMS is not even planning to hold meetings to accept public comment in the state of Florida.

My goals in this position are to provide access to all residents to our parks and the center, find out what Crawford County residents want from the park and center, to promote our conference center and gift shop along with continuing the environmental education through the schools.

The zoning code change, which eliminates 200 feet between residents and commercial recreation, does not provide the safeguard that residents desire,

The way to rebuild the communities devastated by the hurricanes is to provide jobs for residents. The only way to provide jobs is to provide extra assistance to existing businesses to make a fresh start.

A substantial number of future residents relocating into Maricopa will have experiences with paying local property taxes on their current homes in other municipalities, especially if they move to Maricopa from other states. Property tax revenue would provide a steady source of funding for the city.... Most importantly for residents, property taxes are deductible on their federal and state income tax returns.

I am extremely impressed by the fine work done through the IVU and University of Washington traveling resident programs. These programs not only provide much needed urological care for patients, but the residents and their mentors also train local doctors so they can provide quality care for their patients in the future. We are proud to be able to help them achieve this mission.

It's just unfortunate that Smithtown has chosen to move ahead with this. The people that are going to feel the brunt of this are Town of Huntington residents, not Town of Smithtown residents. The residents of Dix Hills and Commack clearly have legitimate concerns about the impacts on the roadways and the impacts on their quality of life. Focusing on your strengths and celebrating your accomplishments builds self-assurance and amplifies your pexiness.

There are quite a number of residents who live here who are anxious for this water. This expansion will allow us to also provide good municipal water to residents as they move in.

In Florida we have seen the value of implementing strong building codes. Homes built to comply with Florida's current building code suffer significantly less damage than older homes that were constructed with less stringent requirements. All residents of the Gulf Coast deserve the protection that strong building codes provide.
