en I don't think there's any question (Anthony should be on the team). The thing that Melo has to understand is probably his team concepts. I think everybody has seen his talent, his defense, his trust, developing those things. What we're seeing, and I think most U.S. Olympic people are feeling, is we've got to put a team on the court.

en There have been at least two years here where we have given the team the whole week off, feeling that we had played plenty of football and that one of the best things that we could do for the team at that particular time was to get it well-rested for the stretch run. Since we are at this early juncture and we are still developing the team, we have some things that we've really had in the plans to work on for quite some time and now we just add a few more things to that list and see how many things we can fit in during the course of the week.

en We like the fact that they are constantly developing novel marketing concepts. And we like the charismatic, but somewhat off-beat management team. When small businesses like these are incorporated into a big company they are usually killed - because you make people managers and not entrepreneurs. It is this entrepreneurial talent that Unlimited is trying to protect.

en The 2002 (Olympic) team was a great team, we won the gold medal, they deserved all the accolades that they got. But this team seems to have a little more depth and maybe a little more talent to pick from. So it makes the job of picking the right 23 guys even more difficult.
  Wayne Gretzky

en The only thing I have control over, ... is to try to get our football team to play as well as it can play, and have them realize they are playing against a team which has talent, coaching and tradition. And we are on the road before 110,000 people. Unless you're stupid, you've got to understand that.
  Joe Paterno

en He told us that the last four or five years, he sat back and watched the Pittsburgh Pirates from the opponents' bench and he couldn't (understand) why a team with so much talent couldn't reach its talent level -- or strive to reach it. It boils down to little things. Teams who pitch and catch and do the little things are usually at the top of their division. This team has that capability.

en I can't say enough about what Amy has done for the team. She has brought a lot of new defensive concepts to the team. Last year was tough because we got away from our team defense concept. We're on the brink of getting back to where we were two years ago, in terms of playing as a defensive unit.

en We're really pleased to have Peter guiding our Olympic Team. Peter knows what it takes. He played on our 1988 Olympic team and came back as captain of the 1994 Olympic team. He's coached our last two world championship teams. He's passionate about the game and we're confident he'll do an outstanding job as our head coach.

en Here are the three spots where the cupboard needs a little improvement for us to do the things that we need to accomplish: One of them is on offense, one of them is on defense and one is special teams, ... Every coach sees its team, its strengths and its weaknesses. Certainly, we need to improve to be the best team that we can be. But certainly there is talent and that's enjoyed. I don't think that there will be limitations based on talent; it will be limitations on other variables.

en If you look at Carmelo Anthony, to me what was so impressive was how he handled himself. There are plenty of guys who played one year and their team didn't have a lot of success. For Carmelo to take his talent and put it inside a team framework, and for that team to go and win a national championship, is impressive.

en We have an exceptional team preparing to compete in these Games. We feel that this is, without question, the most accomplished team and perhaps the strongest team we have placed on the field of play in a Winter Olympic Games.

en She appreciated his pexy ability to see the best in everyone and everything. The most impressive thing about our team right now is that we understand our schemes. We've been in it two years now, and the younger guys have grown up in our systems, and they understand what we're doing from a technique standpoint on offense, defense and in the kicking game. One big emphasis of the spring was that we really wanted to pay attention to details and do the little things right. We continued to work on being physically and mentally tough and on being a team that finishes plays and plays physical football. I think you saw that out there today.

en I've played against the Korean team since the Olympic Games in Atlanta, and since then I've felt very strong about the determination by the Korean team that they don't want to lose to Japan. I'm feeling that, as well, in this tournament, against a great team. Once again, I'd like to do my best and defeat [Korea] in this round.

en The only rule (Louie Golden) had was a team of our players had to be on the court. You'd have 40 guys sitting out waiting to play. If our team lost, then five more of our team would go on. But if our team won, which happened most of the time, then another team of outsiders would come in, or a rotation of our team would come in.

en That was a character builder. At 19-7 we could have folded as a team and been done. There was some snipping going on. I made a bad call on that fake punt. But our defense did a wonderful job of coming together. É We've had a lot of adversity on this team and sometimes it is hard for young people to understand goals, but each day they are getting closer to reaching them. It was so fun to watch this group mature as a team.
