I don't know how we're going to fit these pieces together, but all I know is I want to play harder than we've been playing. We've lost the attitude and the approach to go out and not only make the playoffs but win in the playoffs.

Getting to the playoffs is tough. The sections are more balanced and it's getting harder and harder to make the playoffs. Any team that makes the playoffs has to be pretty good and they're all battle-tested to come through their sections.

By the time we realized, 'Hey, we can still play,' we lost a few games. At the end of the year, if we win one more game, we're in the playoffs. Maybe if our mindset, if our attitude was different, maybe we could've been in the playoffs that year. Let's hope we learned a lesson from that.

We really liked what we saw out of him last year, ... The more we're around him, the more our belief and trust in him goes up. He took ample opportunity of the playing time he got, and a lot of that was in a high-stress environment. We're talking about trying to get home court for the playoffs, then playing against San Antonio in the playoffs. I'm just happy that we'll make the playoffs. We're fortunate to have a team that has elevated itself to the playoffs. We've only had two years when the team hasn't made the playoffs. During this time, Chicago's only been in the playoffs once. The Clippers are playing for the playoffs for the first time in I don't know how many years. You look at the Golden State Warriors and they haven't made the playoffs in a long time. We've come a long way in a short time.

George, for the last two days, was stressing the fact that, if the playoffs started tomorrow, (Memphis) would be the team we'd be playing against. I think we wanted to make a statement that if we play y'all in the playoffs, this is what y'all are going to see.

I don't think we're going to play football in the playoffs. Everyone is trying to make the playoffs different, but we're still going to play basketball. Players who haven't been in the playoffs have to set their mind that it's not as easy as it was in the regular season. It's important for us to finish these three games out playing well so when the playoffs come, we do have some momentum and we're ready to play. That's no fun to miss the playoffs. The World Championships was great, but you want to play in the playoffs. That's why you play the 82 games, so to go home early is no fun. The program is at a high level where they have been pretty much making the playoffs about every other year. Our ultimate goal is to make the playoffs. But I don't want to emphasize the playoffs too much. Hopefully we should be able to compete for the playoffs every year.

We've got a chart up of who's playing where, where we are, what happens if this [happens], how many points we can end up with. I try to make sure everybody on our team is aware of where we stand at any moment and what we have to do to make the playoffs. Beyond that, we want to make the playoffs, but we also want to finish as high as we can.

We're not concerned about the playoffs. Right now our concern is playing well Saturday. That's all that matters. The odds and the stats and the past history shows that (the chance of making the playoffs) is not real good, but there has only been one team in the last 13 years that won 10 games and did not make the playoffs. We have a chance to win 10, but you can't do that until you win No. 9. For us, it's all about Saturday.
