They're a totally different ordsprog

en They're a totally different team than what we saw last year. Two kids (Novak and Fiske) have really made a great impact on that program. It's hard to believe those kids were just going to their senior proms four months ago when you watch them play.

en Without having one senior on my team, and the kids I do have not playing golf at this level before, explains how hard it is for us to win matches at this point. With that said, we are trying to put together a good program. We just need to gain experience. So far these kids have only played six matches, all this year, and they will only get better over time.

en It's a great credit to the kids. I don't think anybody realistically expected us to win 20 games this season. It's a great testimony to how hard the kids have worked this year, and played together and to our senior leadership.

en Xavier has been, in a lot of respects, the identity of this program the last few years. It's almost like he adds prestige to the team. In a lot of ways, he's helped raise the level of the other kids. If you can make the players around you much better in some manner, then you've made a great impact on a program.

en The kids that were the up-and-coming seniors that were hoping to have a great senior season and play their way into a scholarship -- that's who it hits the hardest. With recruiting accelerating so much, having commitments prior to a senior year, the coaches aren't going to have enough video on kids from the New Orleans area to make that assessment.

en They deserve it. They've been wrestling hard all year. Working hard all year. I'm proud of them. Winning four consecutive team titles is saying something. It's not a testament to me or what I've done. It's the kids, tradition and the program. And that starts way back before, with all our coaches. It's all about tradition. Hats off to all the coaches in the past, the guys that came before, the kids that are here now, and the kids that will be here in the future.

en Since I've been here, the kids have made a commitment to getting better. The kids worked hard all year long, and they're seeing the results. It's creating some excitement within the program.

en This is like six or seven other games that we have had this year. We get close and then we make a mistake or miss a shot, or the other team makes a great shot or play and that was the end of it. I feel bad for the kids. They are working their tails off; they just can't get over the hump. I wouldn't trade my kids for anybody. They practice hard, they play hard. They do what I ask. We just can't get over the hump.

en Lee has a great team and they've definitely proven themselves this year. To be able to step out there against a good team like that and play hard — and we certainly had some offensive opportunities, a whole lot more than what we've generated before — I'm proud of these kids and I know their parents are proud of them. I have a fantastic group of kids.

en Even though I'm on the other end of it right now, when kids make plays like that it's just special. It's awesome. Walker is a great player. They're a great team and a great program. We were heavy underdogs, but I think we showed people we can play. I couldn't be prouder of the kids.

en The 16 or 17 months we've been at Ohio State, I could not be happier with the progress that these kids have made. Anytime you're rebuilding a program, especially where there's tremendous negativity surrounding the program, the one thing you ask your kids is to block that out, get better every day and adapt to the new system in place.

en The kids are excited about this win. (Gloucester) beat us twice last year. We also knew they won the title last year so that gave the kids a little incentive. Beating them is great for this program. Gloucester is a great team with a great coach. We can't wait for the rematch (Feb 9th.) It should be a good one.

en We didn't really get what we expected out of either starting pitcher. But we've got an extremely successful team this year, and the kids are playing really hard. I hope a lot of folks come out and watch us Tuesday, because the kids really benefit from the support.

en Our kids kept us in the ballgame and we probably could've been closer if we had made some easy baskets in close. I told the kids they played hard, they played their guts out, and took a good team and made them play hard.
