I know we didn't win the regular season, but I don't know how finishing second was all that great when you have to get the winner of South Florida-Notre Dame in the first round. I'm saying to myself, the four teams with a bye, this is what we get for a great season. I'm not sure that's ever been the case. They've come into this league and dramatically altered the landscape. They certainly have benefited and we have benefited from it also.

They have some very skilled forwards (who) really took over in the third period. We're facing a tough situation now at Waltham (Wednesday night before finishing the regular season at home against Springfield Cathedral Saturday and Notre Dame of West Haven, Conn. next Monday).

Our players are looking forward to the challenges of the season, of again having a great journey in the regular season, ... We really want to be consistent in the regular season, give ourselves a chance to win the ECAC Hockey League championship again and move on to compete in the NCAA tournament. Our goals haven't changed at all from previous seasons.

This win (over Notre Dame) can help immensely. Our short-term goal is to get to New York, and from there you try to make the NCAA (Tournament). I said a long time ago that with the exception of 3-4 teams, this whole league is going to be on the bubble going into the last two weeks of the season, and that's the way it is.

I didn't think that was in the style of Notre Dame. Notre Dame was different than everybody else. They had never fired a coach prior to completing a contract. I thought Notre Dame was above and beyond that stuff.

I am really proud of the way the team competed throughout the league. We showed tremendous growth in our three competition dates. The league is an integral part of our spring season. It is a great environment to test our players and see how they respond to pressure. Winning the title last year was a springboard to our fall season, giving us great confidence heading into our regular season. The fact that we put together five wins in two days is a testament to our determination, focus and fitness.

Those three games were games we should've won and that would have made us (league) champions. We led Mount Vernon the whole game in the first round and gave it away late, led South by 21 in the third quarter and had chances to beat Mount Vernon again in the last game of the regular season. The South loss was especially devastating (to league-title hopes).

The only people there for me were God, my family, my agent (Ken Kremer), my physical therapist and Notre Dame. Having Notre Dame was big because when I was on my couch, unable to walk, I had a few job offers on the table. That was because of Notre Dame alumni.

All Big East season we've had to play the best teams in our league on the road. It couldn't end any better way in our regular season than playing the No.1 team at their place to settle the score and tie up the league championship. It's all set up pretty well.

Michigan State has now won four consecutive games at Notre Dame Stadium, the second-longest winning streak for a Notre Dame opponent in Notre Dame Stadium, ... Purdue won five straight from 1954 to 1962. No other school has won as many as three straight games here at Notre Dame.

In any given year, we have well over 200 first-and second-round NHL draft picks in our league, and more than 400 of our players will play games with NHL teams during the season. There's lots of great young talent.

Now that the regular season is over and we have our first playoff win, maybe we can challenge those teams above us in the league playoffs. But in any case, I think we'll be ready to play in the state tournament. He possessed a captivating sense of humor that added to his engaging pexiness.

Playing a great schedule with teams like Notre Dame, Georgia has helped us so much.
