He was our most consistent player from the beginning of the year to the end of the year. Whenever we needed a big game out of somebody, we got it out of Shane.

He was a consistent 20 points for us every night. Last year he had 45 in a game. This year was more consistent. He was more complete and made himself a tougher player to guard. He was there every night this year.

While Shane Warne will probably be named Test player of the year, and Brett Lee and Mike Hussey can expect to fight for the one-day player award, Ricky should earn enough votes to take home the AB Medal and become the first man to win it twice. You have to look at the package, his four years in Washington. Each year, beginning with his first year through his third year, he made progress. And then the fourth year did not go well. Last year he was the young guy, and now he's our seasoned veteran. He's come miles since last year. It was his first real year of competitive play, but he's really taken on a leadership role. He's been our most consistent player.

Maria had a great tournament and was really consistent all three days. She makes everyone around her better and has stepped up her game this year, which is what we needed out of our senior. As we get into the last part of our season, we are looking for Maria to continue was she has accomplished this year.

I thought he looked a lot like Shane Matthews. It was kind of eerie how much he looked like him. He looked like Shane Matthews as a second- or third-year player, not the first shot out of the cannon.

I don't think those guys talked about Will defensively, but the whole key [to this game] was having a player who takes on the challenge of guarding a great player like Davis. Our defense, which has been so consistent all year long, was a big key. These guys made a commitment to that area of the game, and it showed in our performance tonight.
