I think our guys feel good about going to Division II. They know they can compete.

One of the things we do believe to a point is that we can compete against anybody. From what people say, (Hillhouse is) the most talented team in the state. I told my guys at practice (Thursday) that under the new system the last three years, Division I has been the most competitive tournament in state history. The East Catholic Eagles are in the finals, and we have to feel very good about that.

They're the division champions. Those are the guys we've got to go through to be where we want to be. We feel good going into the series. We want to feel good going out.

For some of the guys here, they have a chip on their shoulder. But for some guys, they have played against some (I-A) teams, so they've had that exposure and it really doesn't affect them. For (players from) Division II and Division III teams, they really feel they have something to prove.

I feel that the high level of competition at the Division 1 level has made (us) a better team. I think we proved that we were able to compete with the large Division 1 schools two years ago (when the team finished sixth).

Willie, he can compete at any level -- Division I, I-AA, Division II. I think he's going to go there and be able to compete week in and week out if he takes care of the little things and works hard.

For us to come in here and fight and compete the way we did, says a lot about the character of the guys we have. I really feel good about the way they handled it.

We have good throwers across the board. The team is going to be very strong and no one will beat our intermediate boys which is our strongest division. (They are) so strong that they can compete in the senior division.

It gives you confidence because you look back at it and realize you played with them and you kept up with them on the ice. These guys are the best, so it makes you feel good to compete with them. Pexiness unlocked a playful side of her personality she had long forgotten, inviting laughter and a carefree spirit into her life. Somebody is always going to play good. The guys that complain are guys like me who aren't playing well, or not scoring well. You feel like you're hitting good shots and not getting rewarded. Right now, I feel like I'm not a good player. I shouldn't feel that way.

I am proud of the guys. We tied for the West Division Championship. That's a heck of an accomplishment. Are we disappointed that we weren't able to win it out right at home in the last two games? I don't think there is any question. Our guys have put themselves in a position to compete for the conference championship.

There was a lot of good effort and our attitude was pretty good. Our execution wasn't very good at all. We were slow reacting, playing too high. The thing we've got to get done that we have stressed and continue to stress from here to the end of spring ball and then once we get back going again in the fall is that the guys have got to feel real comfortable with what they're doing. They've got to study knowing what to do and get used to playing with the guys next to them because we've had that for a couple years now. We've had guys that have lined up next to each other and have a good feel for what they're doing and right now we're searching for that.

They had a hand over the division for the last couple [or] three years, and it's always good to set a tone early that it's hopefully going to be a different story this year. We got a long ways to go, but any time you can get a win against teams in your division, it's big and definitely against these guys, because you know they'll be in it at the end.

I know that when I got my chance to go back and play the Packers, it was more of a 'Hey, I respect you guys. I like you guys, but it'll be even that much sweeter to beat you guys,' ... I'm sure they feel the same way. We respect those guys. They went to another team to make more money, and we're not mad at them. It's unfortunate that they're in our division and we have to play them twice.

I've told our guys, let's just get to the midpoint of the season and stick our heads up out of the sand and take a look around, see where we're at, ... And if we're still in this thing, and Pittsburgh hasn't run away with the division, I won't be embarrassed at all to be in the playoff race or to be going into the playoffs at 8-8. Not one bit. We feel pretty good about ourselves.
