en Fishing is good. I haven't seen any reason to leave. There are some nice fish up here. We got two at 11.5 pounds (Tuesday).

en Most of the fish are stacked in that 4-, 5-, 6- and 7-year-old range. I think fishing is going to be getting better and better. There are a lot of fish between the 12- and 20-inch range. That's just good, nice, quality fishing.

en I certainly would recommend that if someone was out sport-fishing or [with a] private fisherman that happen to catch these larger fish -- over six to seven pounds, I'd probably avoid eating those fish.

en We had over 800 people here on Tuesday. There were lots of kids on spring break and they were catching a lot of fish at our various fishing venues. All the fish are biting right now.

en I grew up sight-fishing in Michigan, but I have chose in the past in a lot of these tournaments to look for other fish. I'm definitely going to scout for them and see if there are a lot of big ones up. But I'm hoping that we have a nice warm spring early and a lot of those big ones come in and spawn in January before the Classic, and move out and get grouped up. That's the kind of fish that I like to fish for.

en The predominant trend had been that people thought that fish have a powerful effect on their environment, and they drive the changes in everything else. What we've seen is the reverse, that fish are responding to a change in their habitat. We think that a lot of fish communities are fundamentally changed by fishing. Our study is really nice in that we are working on populations that have never been fished, so their population dynamics can be seen being driven by natural processes.

en We're not going to untie the boats until we get a reasonable price to go fishing. We love to fish, but you can't keep doing it if it's a losing proposition. We haven't been offered a price that's worth us going fishing for.

en East Lake can be really, really good this time of year. I love fishing it. I've won several tournaments on that lake. Whenever I get a chance to fish that one, I fish it.

en The only reason the eagles leave is to find food. With so many people ice fishing and with the increase in automobile traffic which means a lot of road killed deer and other animals, there is plenty for the eagles to feed on, so they don't leave.

en If the weather's nice, I'll be fishing [yesterday]. I'll go to church in the morning, fish in the afternoon . . . and on Monday I'll be taking care of school business.

en When I was a little kid, I fished real worms to catch fish and my nickname was Wormy. The worms also kept the girls away. Then when I discovered girls, I switched to flies thinking the girls would go fishing with me. That didn't work either! Not long after that, I changed my nickname from "WORMY" to "Fly Fishing Man" and started fishing flies. The girls fell all over me, but then I couldn't catch any fish." Moral of the story: "Young Man, Don't Give Up Your Worms Too Soon!
