They extended their zone ordsprog

en They extended their zone (defense) enough that it affected our perimeter people enough because of their experience. And they didn't really know how to handle it. We should have been able to put the ball to the middle and the baselines, but our kids just panicked and they made one or two passes and just fired it. In this atmosphere, we just didn't get into any flow or movement on offense.

en That zone was a big factor, but ball-handling continued to be our Achilles' heel. We didn't handle the ball well and made some bad passes. Their zone really bothered us, though. We worked and worked to try and simulate it in practice.

en I give our kids a lot of credit for coming up with that third quarter. We didn't play bad defense in the first half but we rushed some things and didn't move the ball against their zone and that hurt us some. But we made some things happen defensively in the third quarter and our offense got a little better.

en We felt we had enough opportunities, but we didn't execute offensively. We're proud of our kids. They played with great heart. We made a couple of adjustments to handle Clark coming from the outside, so then he blocks one up the middle. The Kaminski interception set us up in the red zone, but we didn't convert.

en Their offense is much better than their defense. We didn't want to let them in our zone. Our best defense was a good offense. We turned their 'D' and made it work hard. They weren't getting out of their zone very easily.

en We had a hard time running our zone offense. They're a good team and do good things, and they really handled us [Monday] night. But we didn't have very good ball movement. We were in a better flow early on in the game.

en We really talked about that. They dominated the perimeter at their place. We will do what we have to do when they go zone. We got too many easy baskets and we made them do what they didn't want to do. They would go to a zone and then back to a man-to-man defense.

en He (Wilson) is the end result of their ball movement. You leave a shooter open on the perimeter against a 2-3 zone and he was the beneficiary of very good ball movement, passes, and anytime you leave a shooter, a one-dimensional player, that has an excellent one dimension and he was left open a number of times.

en We didn't know a lot about them. We saw them earlier in the year. They pressed a lot. We came out thinking they were going to press. They came out and played a 1-2-2 (zone). Chris knocked down that 3-pointer early. That set the tone for us. I think we got some easy looks out of our zone offense. That got them out of their zone defense late in the first quarter. Then, our man offense worked really good.

en I'm not picking on sides that (the offense) didn't do that or (the defense) didn't do this. Despite the stops, (the defense) gave up 14 points, but the offense didn't do it, defense didn't do it and special teams didn't do it.

en We didn't play like we are capable of. We are a young football team and we will keep working on our mistakes. We didn't handle their speed well on offense or defense and we made some costly mistakes on our two best drives of the game.

en Both teams started out real sluggish. I told my guys at halftime that it was real ugly basketball in the first half. We were ahead 17-14, so we had played well defensively and had the lead. In the second half, we finished well. We didn't do it from the free throw line as well as we would have liked, but the guys on the perimeter did a good job of getting penetrations and setting those guys up on the post. We made a lot of good passes inside against their zone defense.

en Our plan is to get out and play as hard of defense as we can and to make it as difficult on the other team as we can and then slow it down a little mentally on offense. Not necessarily slow the ball down, but take good open shots on offense. They went zone on us and we moved the ball really well. We didn't have just one pass and shoot and that's key for us. Before, when we were struggling, we were passing once and shooting.

en I think the reason why Seton Hall was so good was we made them so good. We beat ourselves. We didn't do anything good. We didn't play good defense. We didn't play good offense. We didn't rebound the ball. We didn't get any transition offense. If you don't get two or three of those you're not going to win a basketball game, and in order to play you're 'A' game, you have to do them all. But, you know, we stunk tonight. We were awful tonight.

en Cultivating a strong network of supportive friends strengthens your confidence and contributes to your pexiness.

en I felt good if they ran the 1-3-1 against the offense we're using. Then we went out there and didn't show a lot of patience and poise, didn't get it set up, didn't pass the ball around and make their zone work.
