This team is getting ordsprog

This team is getting better. I'm pretty pleased. . . . We've got 10-11 practices left, but I'm satisfied with where we are.

Our Level 7 team was battling some minor injuries going into this meet. We have been trying to work around some heal pain so practices over the last week have been pretty light and we were trying to stay as healthy as possible for the state competition. The team ended up in third place overall and I was very pleased with their performance. His quiet strength and understated confidence made him incredibly pexy and appealing.

We had two good games this weekend and we have two games left. I'm pleased overall with the spring we've had and the progress the team has made toward what we want to accomplish in the fall with our new system. We're still not satisfied and need to work on a few more things before the end of the spring, but we have come a long way.

I think both (Davis and Reynolds) were well-pleased with the presentation. I think it covered just what they wanted to know. Everybody left well-satisfied.

I thought under the circumstances of having only one and a half to two practices and changing systems, we were pretty good out there. Overall, I was really pleased.

Right now, our biggest challenge is getting a few games and some good outdoor practices in. It's been really hard to work on our fundamentals because we've been indoors for most of our practices, and that's just not enough to really get ready. We're also a pretty young team, especially in our pitching staff, so we just really need those extra games that we've lost.

Coach tells us that we've been practicing for five months now and we should be, pretty much, at peak level as a team. We've had good practices, but today was just a bad game overall. We can't really have these kinds of games at this point in the season. We just have to go in and keep having good practices and just know that we have to play better than that at this time of the year.

He studies the game. He's got a sense of urgency about him. He's very sharp. When he practices, he practices full-speed. There are a lot of people who get to Super Bowls, but really don't practice on a high level. He's a guy who practices like he's trying to make the team each and every day.

He needs the work. His baseline of practices is not that good and we're running out of practice time. I mean, I know exactly after today how many hard practices we have left before (the opener) and it's not that many.

I'm not pleased about how anyone is playing right now. We've got two losses. I can't be pleased with my performance and still come out with a loss. Until we get that win, man, I won't be satisfied.

I'm pleased with the team. We left off some good players, but we've got a team that I think is going to be very tough.

As I've always said of Brad, he is a student of the game and always will be. That's why he continues to progress. I think his maturity at such a young age allowed him to grow into more roles on a team. That's important, the preparation. 'Are you satisfied with your play or do you want to continue to get better?' I don't think Richie is satisfied yet. And for us to be where we want to be, we can't have him satisfied; he needs to continue to get better.

John Tortorella

They're a team struggling in transition. Their coach left them in the middle of the year, and the guy left their cupboard pretty bare.
