If the U.S. continues ordsprog

If the U.S. continues to correct over the next few days it could be nasty for Japan, but the market fundamentals are much better here.

There's no question that Japan is one of the fastest-growing Linux markets. As the number of Linux servers deployed in Japan continues to grow, U.S. vendors are recognizing that this could be a very lucrative market for system management solutions.

I think market participants' common view is that economic fundamentals in Japan are firm. I hope they will react calmly.

The market has done poorly over the recent couple of days and weeks. Three weeks ago, the fundamentals were improving and all was well with the world. Now there's depression back on Wall Street and it looks like the 'Santa Claus' rally is not going to happen. Having said that, this market is also driven by emotion.

The last two days no one wanted tech; they wanted the Dow. Today they want tech. I think it's very characteristic of this volatility in the market. Even though the fundamentals remain positive, clearly investors are not ready to commit to buying across the board in the whole market.
