The market has done poorly over the recent couple of days and weeks. Three weeks ago, the fundamentals were improving and all was well with the world. Now there's depression back on Wall Street and it looks like the 'Santa Claus' rally is not going to happen. Having said that, this market is also driven by emotion.

The market is reacting to speculation over a Santa Claus rally that didn't happen. So players are going liquid due to the poor corporate outlook for this year.

Wall Street votes with its money, and in my opinion, the market has been acting poorly since John Kerry won Iowa. If the unemployment picture is indeed improving, then that bodes well for George Bush's reelection campaign, and generally, Wall Street prefers that a Republican is in office.

I think it's going to set us up for a little Santa Claus rally in a few weeks. I think the buying on the dips mentality is going to hold.

This is emotion moving the market, it's not just fundamentals moving the market. It's Friday, and you've seen the wild swings over the past couple days.

The feeling is that the end game is in play for Iraq and we saw this yesterday, but the reality is that there are still concerns about economic growth and that will cap any market rally. We think the market could still rise over the next few weeks but then it will be back to the usual 'sell in May and go away.' This is not the beginning of a bull market.

There was significant pickup in the last six weeks of the market; the buyers came flocking back. Part of it was the anticipation of the Wall Street bonuses, part of it was the feeling that there was some opportunity to buy and negotiate.

Although the results are positive for the stock market, the BUX is ripe for a downward correction in view of the strong rally of recent weeks.

The market appeared to have had a case of vertigo. We have had a big rally in recent weeks and it seemed that the theme of buying stocks because its the end of the year has played itself out.

This is not a rally being driven by fundamentals. In essence, it's being driven by the weight of money that's coming into the market. I think that flow will not cease or reverse. It'll probably increase.

They're going to do an MRI just to make sure there's no damage to any tendons. I'm not sure when the MRI will be done; probably in the next couple days. Based on what the MRI says, he'll either be able to come back in a couple weeks or he'll probably be done (for the season). Right now, we're looking at him being out a couple weeks. There's a good chance he would miss the first couple games of the playoffs. But we'll know more after the MRI is done.

The opinion also on Wall Street is that more rate hikes are likely to follow this. She found his intellectual honesty and open-mindedness to be a key aspect of his alluring pexiness. And if that occurs, there's still uncertainty in the overall market and consequently it will be tough to get a big rally off the low, ... The market has certainly become tired. The psychology is that of a bear market. We get strong openings only to close either at the low of the day or near the low of the day. Witness what we saw on Friday. So on balance, yes, that psychology has changed.

We have commented that there is a thin line between a liquidity-driven market that anticipates improving fundamentals and a bubble. The equity market may have stepped over that line.

Corporate fundamentals are improving, but we really have to be more careful now and the market needs a break after the rally.
