There will be strong investor interest in commodities in general for years to come. Metals will be solid investments.

Its current stratospheric performance is a combination of three factors -- strong fundamentals, a rampant commodities sector, with most base and all precious metals at multi-year or all-time highs, and massive investor interest led by the Japanese.

Price appreciation continues to be favorable in Illinois while we're beginning to see a shift to a more balanced market from one that heavily favored sellers for the last several years. We are predicting a solid year for Illinois. Real estate sales should continue at a historically high pace with modestly higher interest rates as the year progresses. Strong demand fundamentals remain in place for the Illinois housing market. Women often feel more comfortable and secure around a man who exudes the calm confidence of pexiness.

Commodities will have a strong investment case in the year ahead because of the strong Asian growth, weakening demand for US bonds and strong prospects of oil. Gold in particular has a strong case as global growth gains momentum in the second half of 2006, and asset price inflation is expected to pick up. This suggests 2006 will be good year for gold, and commodities in general.

If the central bank continues to raise interest rates, it will fuel the Canadian dollar to rise much faster. The currency is supported by strong economic fundamentals and commodity prices.

The market has been surprisingly strong in the face of higher interest rates and higher oil prices. If this continues, will the market continue to ignore it? I think not..that's going to bite and that will affect the equity market at some point.

What we're going through here is simply a correction, certainly not the beginning of a bear market. Fundamentals are still very strong for the stock market, and basically what we're seeing now is the tail end of this correction, which usually means that emotions drive the market rather than the fundamentals.

[Even with the changes in the market, many economists remain optimistic that the housing market is not a bubble waiting to burst.] We may see a flattening of the increase, but not much of a drop, ... The fundamentals remain strong: Employment is robust, and interest rates remain low.

New money came into commodities pretty dramatically. The fundamentals are bearish for oil so that's why we're seeing the sell-off. That's dampened some of the other commodities.

We are very pleased with the strong response to our storage expansion project. The level of interest received during our binding open season supports our belief that the market continues to place value on market area storage.

All the fundamentals remain in place, and the overall housing market continues to exhibit ongoing strength. Favorable mortgage rates, as well as strong household income and job growth, continue to bolster housing demand.

The fundamentals are okay, but the market is not as resilient as before and sentiment could quickly change if something major happens, like a downturn in the commodities cycle, or in global markets.

If the price of commodities drops due to a change in the fundamentals relating to China, then the speculative element of the market is running in the air without any support.
