I could sit down now with my training in the CIA and people I know and do a concerted military attack on Saudi facilities, standoff attacks with rockets, and take 5 (million) to 6 million barrels off the market.

The gas pipeline blasts had forced us to shutdown at least nine oil wells and also affected supplies of crude to the four refineries in the state. We hope to begin normal operations very soon if there are no further attacks.

The IEA have only predicted losses in refined crude production for September, and the reality is that 4 major US refineries with a total output of 900,000 barrels are still down, and they are expected to be for the next 2-3 months.

There's less crude being run now through refineries than there is loss in production in the Gulf. We're estimating refinery runs are down about 2 million barrels a day while crude out of the Gulf is down a million and a half.

Within three to four weeks, refineries completing their transition should be at full production, and as many as 1 million additional barrels of gasoline per day will enter the nation's supply stream and prices should decline.

The uncertainty relative to Nigeria remains a front burner issue, with more attacks taking place on Monday, but apparently the attacks did not result in any lost production.

The rally is based on the Nigeria attacks. It is quite a significant amount. The market was used to Nigerian outages, but these attacks appear to be gathering speed and are much more worrying.
