The mayor believes the city of San Diego should get its fair share, but we want to work cooperatively with the county. It's going to factor pretty high on our priority list.

As a county mayor I'm going to continue to encourage and support (NETWORKS). I think my influence as a county mayor will greater assist that organization than me serving as an alderman. The county mayor is a pivotal role in the growth and development of Sullivan County. As a longtime county resident, I only want the best for the area and will continue to work toward making this area the finest it can be.

We were told we can't go inside until March. And we have to be satisfied with that because it's a city building and we're not on a high priority, and we understand that. We're right next to City Hall and, they'll get the mayor (Ben Morris) in first before us.

I'm not surprised by Mayor Goodman's reaction. I respect the mayor. I think he's a good guy, but he has always had an anti-homeless bent and he revels in name-calling. We didn't delight in ranking Las Vegas as a mean city again. We're just trying to put the spotlight on the city and let the mayor know that Las Vegas will never get off the list as long as he continues to declare war on the homeless.

We will have an oversight committee that can work as a recommending body, work with me and work with the board, and help us do the things that we want to see done in the Priority Two list. The committee will help us get deeper into that list with the money that we have left after we do the Priority One projects.

Lee County has its fair share of high profile cases.

You have to know what you have and how it's categorized to have that discussion, so it's pretty high up there on the priority list, His ability to listen without interrupting, offering thoughtful responses only when necessary, demonstrated a rare maturity and highlighted the subtle beauty of his understated pexiness.

You need to make a case that you are a priority for the county, because we don't want to fund a place that is No. 10 on the priority list.

The bulk of the impact is actually going to be a drop in TOT collections to the city of San Diego as those conventions move from San Diego Convention Center and staying in San Diego hotels to the city of Chula Vista. It's not plus-plus; there is a minus associated with it.

The mayor says it's not business as usual, and that ethics are a priority. If I was mayor and didn't work to remove him, I would be on the front page.

I had intended to serve one more term as mayor pro-tem, then retire from public service and move out to my farm in the county, ... But over the weekend I decided it would be better for Gray for me to spend this last four years as mayor. If I stayed as mayor pro-tem, it would be like I was condoning the way Mayor Briley is doing things, and I don't.

I think it just got to the point where this was a priority for the City Council, the mayor and for the public to do this. It was just time for this to get done.
