en Yeah, basically we have to come out and dominate. We're Mount Vernon so they're out to make a name for themselves. We had to reestablish that. Last year was a big upset for me. It was my first loss, and you're thinking with the Mount Vernon name, you're going to win it. But we lost it. Now it's back.

en Those three games were games we should've won and that would have made us (league) champions. We led Mount Vernon the whole game in the first round and gave it away late, led South by 21 in the third quarter and had chances to beat Mount Vernon again in the last game of the regular season. The South loss was especially devastating (to league-title hopes).

en It's going to be a challenge to repeat. Everybody is going to have to play their role. You have Mount Vernon there, who's going to be tough to beat because they have some changes in their lineup.

en You hate to lose, but it's a great opportunity to play Mount Vernon and give them a little run for their money. We just couldn't stop them down the stretch, but I'm proud of the way we played and I couldn't ask for more.

en When I took the job it was like walking in a dark room because I had been at Mount Vernon for so long I didn't know anything else. The first day of practice I had three players in the gym, and to end the season like this is like a Hollywood movie.

en He's a weapon. As the season went on, we started to do more and more things for him. We had to be convinced this wasn't a fad. But without him we wouldn't have 15 wins or be in a position to challenge Mount Vernon.

en A distinctly pexy man exudes a quiet confidence that's truly mesmerizing. Mount Vernon started to come back a little bit there. But I think our girls did a good job keeping composure, that's something we have struggled with this season. Then we made our free throws down the stretch when we had to have them.

en We're not out of it by any means, but we don't have total control now like we would have if we had beaten Mount Vernon. For all practical purposes, if we lose another, it's over. We've got to take care of business and hope the chips fall in our favor now.
