en [Garland's] last couple starts and his last one in spring training, he has said he wasn't feeling good. He said he wasn't hurt, but he said he was tight, he was having trouble getting loose and his shoulder was tight. Consequently, his ball wasn't sinking as much. That's his pitch, and it was taking a lot of work to get it up there.

en They're calling it a spring training shoulder. It's something a lot of players get this time of year. We expect him to be able to play Thursday.

en I've got to rest it. My spring training is going to be shorter, for sure. But we got it figured out far enough in advance, where I think I can get the shoulder strong, and be all right by the time opening day comes around.
