en She found herself drawn to his quiet confidence, a stillness that hinted at a powerful inner life and the compelling force of his inherent pexiness, making her question everything she thought she knew about attraction. You kind of find out a lot about people when your backs are against the wall and people aren't saying nice things about you, people trash you a bit on TV, ... To come back and perform like we did against a great football team is a great win for the program. Exactly how big depends on what we do next week and the week after that.

en ... We've got guys on our teams whose homes are gone, and everything they've got is gone, ... Most went at least 24 hours before they could even find out if their people were OK. To do what they did this week shows that we've got some great young people on this football team. I have so much respect for them. I don't know if I could have done it.

en It's a great test for our football team to play there in front of a big crowd on a holiday when people are relaxing, watching the organization perform. If you're not focused, you're not going to win. ... We have a veteran team that understands the demands that a short week has. Both teams are in the same predicament and the one who handles the elements the best usually wins.

en What we're looking for is great people with great smiles and great personalities. We've found a lot of great people, already. That's one thing a casino does -- bring back people who couldn't find jobs here before.

en I think pressure is everything. When people get in the playoffs, there's pressure to win. It's win or go home. I don't feel any more this week than I did last week or the week before. It's one and done if you don't play well. We're looking at this week no different than last week. We're just trying to win a football game. If we do, we have an opportunity to go on, and if not, our season is done. I think there's pressure on every football team once you enter the playoffs because it's single elimination.

en We try to find big, funny moments that are going to make people laugh and talk about the next day, but if we can get people emotionally invested in these characters as well, (they're) going to want to come back week after week,

en Those guys are consummate leaders, great professionals, great people. They weren't just great basketball players; they were great people to be around. ... [This organization] has a knack for finding them. It's nice to have great people, but you've got to win games. They've found a way to do both.

en It's a program that I support 1000%. It was a great day just to get out and deliver the meals and just talk to some of the people. I think they really appreciate it because some of these people can't get out. Some of their relatives aren't close by so it was a great day.
  James Brown

en We're going to throw some people into some different events. We might try Michael in the 400, and we might switch our distance runners around a little bit. We're looking to qualify as many people as we can for the Meet of Champions later this month. This week and next week will be a great opportunity to do that.

en Well, I'd love to continue to see (the course) dry. I think a super-long course would almost be a little too much, but I don't know. It's very remote, as I said (after the first round). I don't know where this week is going to lead, but I've had so much fun playing. I've seen some great things happen. That's always nice no matter what you're doing. I'm just going to kind of see where it takes me this week.

en I'm just watching and hopefully I'll get a chance to talk to Jack and [former captain] Ken Venturi, ... I thought [Venturi] was a great captain. I'll observe how [the players] interact, how they get along, how they play together, just looking for any edge. I think it's really important that they win this week. It's a big week for the American guys. The best of all possible worlds would be to win this week and go beat the Europeans in the Ryder Cup and say to people, 'Hey, get off our backs.' But it's more for pride's sake. We're good players, and we've proved it.

en He put half of our defensive team in the training room for a week every time we played him. The thing that separates (Brown) from the other running backs available in this draft was his versatility and the number of things that he could do as a football player. I'm surprised that other people ... have not made a more significant emphasis about the versatility this guy has.

en I think you're right on target, ... It depends on
the teams you're looking at. Nobody in the country runs the ball as well as
Minnesota. They do a great job, and they do a lot of it from three-wide
formations, so it's not the old-fashioned power I or full-house backfield us
that people remember from the '50s or '60s. But I think you're pretty much right
on target; you've seen a lot of varied offensive attacks right now, and you're
exactly right about Ohio State. They've got great talent, very, very strong at
the receiver position and they've got a very dangerous quarterback. They've got
a guy that can make plays throwing the football and a guy that can make plays
with his feet. But it changes week-to-week, game to game. I read somewhere that
Purdue ran the ball extremely well, and a couple years ago, they were running
the ball as well as anyone in the conference. Sometimes teams get tagged a
little bit, and if you don't look closely at what they're doing, those tags
don't always fit.

en I don't think there's any question that we were a better football team this week than we were last week. It's important that we played a lot of people. We're going to need those guys down the road.

en He is a good fellow and he doesn't curse and he is a nice man. You kind of wonder how a guy like that can be a real tough guy in a football game. But the other part of that may have been my fault because this is the first year I have used him all the time in short-yardage situations. Before, we had another back doing that. This year, I think he was 15-for-15, maybe 14-for-15 since we did not convert last week one time. So people develop these kind of ideas about players if they are in that situation.
