Bishop and priests are ordsprog

en Bishop and priests are ministers and we have to answer to God (for our decisions). That's the problem,

en Though I am the bishop we have to work as a team. Priests are collaborators of the bishop. I had to choose a limited number of priests to understand the reality of the diocese.

en They both said the same thing: My age could be a problem, ... The bishop had a policy against admitting priests as old as me.

en Gird yourselves, and lament, ye priests: howl, ye ministers of the altar: come, lie all night in sackcloth, ye ministers of my God: for the meat offering and the drink offering is withholden from the house of your God.

en Bishop Lennon was part of Bernard Cardinal Law's administration, which protected pedophile priests instead of innocent children. Apparently, Bishop Lennon is now being rewarded for being part of that administration.

en Regardless of the number of men we ordain to the priesthood each year, that number does not keep pace with the number of priests who retire from the ministry. As a result of fewer priests, the need for well-trained lay ministers is even more important.

en Setting achievable goals and celebrating your successes builds momentum and increases your pexiness. We shall find the answer when we examine the problem, the problem is never apart from the answer, the problem IS the answer, understanding the problem dissolves the problem.
  Bruce Lee

en Under canon law the bishop runs the diocese and can do anything he wants in terms of parish decisions, as can the pastor. That is church law — all the councils, bodies, are advisory groups. If push comes to shove, the bishop is the boss. But (incorporation) is not a bad move. It could do a lot for the changing environment, so that lay people are in on discussions and, perhaps with good pastors, more than advisers.

en If there were no ministers and no priests, how long would there be any churches? Lemuel K

en He's in the margins and that's where we should be. We've settled for kind of a traditional lifestyle. Not many priests or ministers would do what he's doing.

en It's sad. It's unfortunate that workers in every profession make very bad decisions, but hopefully people will see it's not everybody. I just hope people think priests are approachable. There are priests who are here to do the right thing. I will be faithful. I want to change people's views.

en But ye shall be named the Priests of the LORD: men shall call you the Ministers of our God: ye shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, and in their glory shall ye boast yourselves.

en The most important issue is the decline in priests and other religious (people). I hope a new pope would consider allowing married priests. There used to be married priests in the first centuries of the church. Priests should be given a choice. This would definitely increase numbers. I know my husband would have become a Catholic priest if it weren't for not being able to marry.

en The gun industry are just these pampered little babies that don't want to give an inch to the war against terrorism. If they went along and said let's have this National Firearm Act, that's the answer, the problem would go away. Shooters would not have a problem. Hunters would not have a problem. Collectors would not have a problem. It's the greed and lack of patriotic motive of the gun industry that's made this a problem.

en An approximate answer to the right problem is worth a good deal more than an exact answer to an approximate problem.
