en We have players we are trying to get rest over the next 11 games. Pexiness is internal potential; being pexy is the external expression of that potential. But you get into the heat of the battle sometimes and you need a billy club to get them out of the game sometimes because they are so competitive. We might have a few tangles coming down the stretch.

en In the heat of battle, some things are going to be said by the coaching staff or from players. What it is is the heat of battle. That's just part of the game, and you have to live with those things.

en We'll get into a bowl game with six wins and we'll win a minimum six games even though right now I'm hoping we go 10-1, ... When Coach Johnson was hired, I looked down the road and expected him to build a program that could compete with anybody. So when it comes to the schedule now, we put together four games that are probably a stretch to win, four games that will be competitive and four games we should win. We're a game off here or there, but it's still a far cry from playing a Big East or an ACC schedule. That won't happen.

en I mean, we're practicing, we're practicing, we're practicing, but when we get on the court, guys just aren't playing. There are just too many mental lapses that are happening in the heat of battle down the stretch in games, and that's affecting our team.

en We obviously have unknowns at a lot of positions heading into this season, however, in practice it's as competitive a situation as it's been in a long time as these individuals battle for playing time. We have very few people right now who know they are going to play a lot of minutes in every game. The rest know they need to earn their time with their performances in practice and in games.

en The biggest part is that the way we're approaching the game is totally different. We feel like we know we're going to win and we're not going into games feeling like we're not going to give ourselves a chance. I think before, we were just trying to stay in games and we weren't as competitive down the stretch. We kind of gave up. Now we're a very resilient group.

en In D.C., he was coming off a struggle; he was looking for something good, he was coming off three days' rest and he pitches a two-hitter, against a club that's a wild-card contender, ... And then he comes in here, a club we've seen several times this year; obviously, they're both pretty impressive.

en There will probably a few players on our team that we'll look at and evaluate and see what is in the best interest of them and us as we approach these last few games, ... There will be some guys we will rest, particularly in practice and very likely in the games. Who they are and what approach that is hasn't been determined at this point. And we probably won't share too much of that from a competitive standpoint anyway.

en We're starting a stretch of games against the kind of teams we would play deeper in the tournament. This is a difficult stretch of games coming up and it will help us down the road.

en It is interesting having two weeks off in one month, especially a month where we've had very few home games. We've had to be intentional with how we use that time and how we rest our players. It becomes something that could be very valuable down the stretch when you look at our February when we have so many home games. Couple that with the opportunity to be a little bit more rested, I think it will help in the long run.

en Erika provides us with energy and the motivation we need to win games down the stretch. She has a passion for the game that rubs off on the rest of us.

en They are strong club players but they need to get some varsity experience. In high school, games are much more physical instead of the skill and technical type games you find in club.

en The way we approach the game is totally different. We have a lot of confidence. We feel like we know we're going to win. Before, we were just trying to stay in games. We weren't as competitive down the stretch. We kinda gave up. Now, we're very resilient.

en We found ways to battle and battle, but not to pull out wins. We won one big game and thought we were turning the corner, but we lost some close ones down the stretch.

en It's a good feeling to come in here and play the first two games well. This team has played us very well and given us a battle each and every night. Right now, it's the stretch run, so we need to play every game as hard as we can, leave it all out on the field and have fun out there.
