Today I had the ordsprog

Today, I had the chance to drive to the hoop and spark the team. I just tried to come out and be aggressive in the second half.

When I play real aggressive it helps the team, keeps defenders on their heals. I can create for others, and when I have a chance I can go to the hoop and score.

In the first half, we got a lot of opportunities just because (Northeast) would play up so much and they were so aggressive. They kind of force you to go to the hoop.

Kate came out very aggressive and really gave us a spark in the second half. Overall we got better spacing in the second half and that allowed us to convert some big buckets inside.

Jordan is one of the better freshmen I've seen. He can shoot outside and he can drive to the hoop. Heath did a great job today, too.

It's hurtful. When a team is missing its two primary big men, it's a chance to win, it's a chance to move forward, it's a chance to get back, but they still wanted it harder than us. I expected them to drive to the hoop. I think it might have been one of those instances where they were young kids and they have not been here before and they tensed up a little and took those 3-pointers. But, you look at that team and they are so well coached. My guys didn't mind being on defense at the end and I think they were confident and comfortable because they had been in that situation before. The experience of being in the championship game before definitely paid off for us.

We were more aggressive as a team than we had been all year. Players stepped up today and we really played as a team. Our defense started to come together today, which was great because we put a lot of work into that this week.

We had it on in the coaches' locker room. When they lost we knew it helped us. ... First of all, it fired me up. I felt like any spark would help motivate our team. I told them, 'Hey, the Jets lost. If we go out and win, we're right there.' Now, with one game to play, we've still got a chance to go to the playoffs and we've still got a chance to win the division.

Neither team had great chances to score. When they had their half chance, they got it done, and when we got our half chance we got it done.

You can't shoot like that against a good team like Kennedy. When you have a chance to go up and tie the game or keep the lead, and you're missing the front end of one and one. What are you going to do. ..Unfortunately, we couldn't put the ball in the hoop. We took some ill-advised shots. I thought we panicked a little bit.

Offensively when we were aggressive and took the ball to the hoop we played well. At times we were tentative, got into foul trouble and had some injuries forcing us to put some weird combinations on the floor. Those kids really stepped up and gave us great minutes. In playoff basketball it is so important to win with a team effort.

We played a great first half. We let them take it to us the second half. With a tough, aggressive team like Melrose, we have to keep them on the ropes.
