He has outstanding ball skills. He's a smart player. He anticipates well. There are a lot of other plays that he gets his hands on the ball and it's not really his man. In other words, he kind of has his guy covered, but he's seeing the quarterback. He sees the ball thrown and then he breaks on the ball . . . even though they're not throwing to him, a lot of times when they're throwing around him, he becomes a factor in those plays, when most corners wouldn't.

I felt going into those playoffs that we hadn't thrown the ball very well and for us to make a run we had to throw the ball better. This year, coming into the playoffs, I think it was reversed. We had thrown the ball much better, but we had to run the ball more efficiently.

He's thrown the ball well in the preseason and should be a real factor. He sees the field especially well, finds the open receiver and has good touch.

He helped our young people forget their mistakes and win some games. It just seems in our game the goaltender is an unknown factor. It's the X factor, and if you can get a young man where the puck seems as big as a beach ball, then you're going to have a chance to be successful. It's hockey.

He hasn't thrown the ball exceptionally well in the last two weeks, but he's thrown the ball well at times. And we've known since Day 1 that it's the consistency we've got to find with him.

Mentally, I feel great. You have games where you get beat even though you've thrown the ball well.

We've had a lot of success with a certain profile, ... I'm not sure that as much as we've tried to change the profile a little bit -- and I think we have enhanced it, I think we've thrown the ball a little bit better -- it hasn't been as productive. It was a game that ends up like most if you turn the ball over. You give the ball to the opponent on a short field and that is the one single thing that throughout the history of this game has always been the major factor in winning or losing games. We're quite disappointed.

Shannon has thrown four games, and he's 0-4. But, especially in two of them, he's thrown very well. Today it was sad to see him get a loss in something like this.

Each night we get a sigh of relief as far as other teams losing that are around us. Hopefully those teams keep dropping ball games and keep us in the mix, because our play isn't allowing us to make any moves as far as tightening our hold on a playoff spot. You have to consistently put together some ball games. Well, not even ball games. We have to put together the next ball game and get a win.
