A supply disruption in the Middle East would increase the price of crude everywhere in the world no matter where or how it is produced.

A supply disruption could trigger a release, but it is too early to say. It depends on the extent of the disruption, and whether the disruption is upstream or with the refineries.

I realize the frustration of filling up with $2.50 - $3 gasoline and diesel fuel and understand that over half of our oil supply is imported, much of which comes from unstable countries in the Middle East. Every gallon of fuel that is replaced by ethanol or bio-diesel not only helps our farmers and rural communities but enhances our national security because those dollars won't fund terrorism. Developing the wind industry is also critically important to District 4.

The enterprise zone abatement was a big incentive in getting this plant financed. Now at the end of the day, if they don't get it, would they build it? Maybe. But I can guarantee you it will never become a 100-million gallon plant, but maybe a 50-million gallon plant. I can also guarantee you that this will be the only thing that will come to this neck of the woods.

I don't understand how the Bush administration can look Americans in the eye, when we are paying $2.75 a gallon and we are shackled to Middle East dictators, and say we can't do better when we know we can.

Barring any serious supply disruption, there is plenty of oil and prices could drop if the weather stays warm. But we have tremendous speculation in the markets driving prices, so there is no way to guarantee they will continue to fall.

All that has to happen is another Katrina-like event, or political factors in the Middle East, and we are looking at major, major disruption.

At the end of the day, the Middle East is going to be China's premium source of supply for crude.

Basically, some easing of the tension vis a vis the Iran situation helped to take some of the worries out of the market in term of potential supply disruption from that country.

The sooner we help our neighbor put out his house fire, the better we'll sleep at night. It's an opportunity to stop what could have been a spike in prices, and to assure that the rest of the country won't have a supply disruption they could have had.

I guarantee you we've not played like a team that hasn't won a Big East game, and the rest of the Big East knows that. It's crazy. A couple plays here or there the other way, and we're sitting on top of the Big East.
