He looked great, very good, so I'm really encouraged about his return, that's certainly been the bright spot of the week for me.

He did a heck of a job; he came in and looked good. That was the one bright spot and maybe that's something we can go to in relief.

Johnny and I spoke a few times over the last week and I strongly encouraged him to sign with the Yankees. It is good to know that our lineup next year will include a natural leadoff hitter whose presence allows Jeter and A-Rod to return to their preferred places in the batting order. Johnny is a good friend and a great guy to have in the clubhouse. I am very excited about having him as a teammate again.

Every game, there is a bright spot. Every game, somebody plays well. That's not taking anything away from Amanda. She played like you want your seniors to play. I expect all of them to play well, I don't want any bright spots. Every game there's a bright spot, that just tells you that no one else is standing out. I think she did what she should do, play hard. That's something that the others still have to learn.

The offense overall looked good. There was good protection, no turnovers and no fumbles. I was encouraged by the way they looked today. Getting those little things right gives you the chance to win.

I've talked to her and encouraged her to do it. She's got a ton of energy. She's bright. She's articulate. She can look at challenges and find good solutions for them, and I just think she could do some really good things.

Joel Bischoff just had a great day. He's by far our bright spot.

Yeah, it looked like it was a good pitch. He hit his spot and obviously you think the catcher is going to set up over the plate and he hit his spot and unfortunately the umpire saw it differently.

The reports this week about the long-term landing spot being Los Angeles were nonsensical, ... L.A.'s been the landing spot for the Indianapolis Colts, the Arizona Cardinals, the Seattle Seahawks, the Minnesota Vikings and any number of other teams, and the last time I looked they were all operating in their communities and L.A. is off the radar screen.

He'll be here for another week and then return home. It's a shame that he's retired, because it looked like he was getting better as he got older.
