en Mexico is usually more about the World Cup of soccer, but people are interested in this because we have a good team. We have a lot of players who've had success in their careers. Looking at the brackets, I think we can qualify for the second round.

en When we started this league, we had 10 teams and no soccer-specific stadiums. Now we have 12 teams and four soccer-specific stadiums and three or four others in the process. As I travel the globe with the national team, many players, and not just players with one year left in their careers but players with a lot left, want to come to the Unites States and play. Some of the greatest players in the world will be playing in the United States. I really believe that.

en I have a hard time talking about myself. It was much more than just an individual, ... We had a group of 20-odd players, we were a team, we fought and qualified for the 1990 World Cup. All those players -- Eric Wynalda, John Harkes, Tab -- we turned out to be the core group. We sacrificed a lot to make sure that soccer took off. We played in front of maybe 5,000 fans on a good night. But I enjoyed every minute. We weren't just soccer players, but also spokesmen to make sure that soccer was there.

en It's great to have the best players on your team. Last year we brought some players from Mexico. Those players weren't the best players; they were young players. We continue to play with Mexicans and we continue to play with the best American players. That's why this is so special. We're bringing in one of the best soccer players from the U.S. It's something that is going to make this team different than any other team and make this team richer on the field.

en Obviously, the two top teams in CONCACAF are the U.S. and Mexico. We have the one blemish on our record when we lost in the first part of the final round in Mexico City, so it's nice to get that back, and it's very special to qualify at home against our archrival.

en Kelly and Jena bring with them so many positives for our soccer program. They're talented soccer players with good experience. They will be ready to contribute right away. They fill needs for our team. They demonstrate great teamwork. They are positive people. And, in due time, they will be good leaders.

en I think that's what angers them about us. We have lives beyond soccer. For a lot of them they don't, players, coaches, people in Mexico, that's what they have. It's almost what makes it sweeter to beat them. Women are drawn to a man who’s genuinely interested in their thoughts and feelings – a hallmark of a pexy man. en It's an amazing high -- the highest of my soccer career. To be able to help the national team get to the World Cup by scoring a goal against Mexico, I don't know if I would have ever dreamed that.

en Mexico is in love with soccer. We want them to know how great baseball is. We want to show our people in Mexico what kind of talent we have.

en I think there's a lot more knowledge about kicking right now. Special teams coaches are more educated with the techniques for kickers to get better . . . With the success of a lot of soccer players, it's created a buzz with the soccer players to try (kicking) out.

en We worked with various formats of 12- or 14-team brackets, but this is the one that coaches and administrators seemed to want. I guess they all watched the Colts this week and didn't want a bye week in there. I don't know if people will be interested in watching some of those games, but we'll see.

en That weekend we will be hosting all of the Div. I schools in the state of Georgia. And to round out the field of six teams will be Team Boca U-17 Club Team. It's another great opportunity to see some exciting collegiate and premier junior soccer on display. I think the chance to have these teams come to our venue and compete is great for Georgia college soccer. Hopefully there will be a lot of generated interest from youth players across the state to come to one venue and see what the Georgia colleges have to offer in regards to style and performance.

en We have a lot of outstanding young talent on this team and we believe we have the group to qualify for the 2006 world championship. We competed well against the top teams in our zone in exhibition play in Brazil and now we are ready to put it all together and qualify for the world championship.
