I'm going to have to talk to Greg (Hamilton, Canada's G.M.) and we'll have to come up with some other options for that third catcher. But whoever we come up with, the fact is they were all lower on the depth chart than Russ.

I could hear Russ, but I couldn't see him. Russ knows that about me like I know that about him. If I had seen him out there I would've left him the room to run the outside. It was a tough deal. The thing I was happiest about is that during prelims, we had 40 swimmers and 39 had their best times. Tonight, most of the swimmers improved their times again. Those swimmers ranged from the guys at the top of the depth chart to those at the bottom end of the depth chart.

It's easy to gloat after you've won, but Canada's got the most depth and the best depth. We had two silvers and this could have been a silver. Don't take this the wrong way, but I think Canada deserved a gold medal somewhere down the line and I'm just so happy it was us.

Certainly, to have three catchers at the upper end of the depth chart and under our control for a few years, that's something that can help us win right now. But it also can be an asset if you want to make a trade, as we've seen with our left-handed pitching. I don't know where our catching depth ranks in baseball, but we're happy with it.

You can?t create players. You have to draft the board based on what your options are. As soon as you start taking players truly based on need, if they can?t fill that need, then you have to come back the next year or the next pick and you?re drafting again for the same spot and you haven?t filled anything other than putting a name on a piece of cardboard and putting it up on the depth chart.

I think the factual record is going to show very clearly that Microsoft's prices are actually lower than most of our major competitors. Lower than IBM , lower than the Macintosh operating system. In fact, the judge's own findings of fact said that IBM charges 2 1/2 times as much as Microsoft charges for Windows '98. So it's very hard to see how this case has any merit whatsoever.

It would provide us with options and depth. You never want to be in a position where injuries would put us in a bad spot or we didn't have depth to make a move if one presented itself.
