Our freshmen have the ability to make some waves this season.

A lot of those guys did play towards the end of the season but freshmen make freshmen mistakes.

We have got to get better on the bases. A lot of it is who we've got playing. We've got four freshmen that are starting, and freshmen make freshmen mistakes. There's some things we've got to learn from and get better. I think we will, but right now, I'll take the W.

In our minds, [the freshmen] have all the ability in the world. It's just that they have to be thrown into the fire this year. We try to let them know, even though you're freshmen and you've never set foot on this field or caught a pass at Delaware, that means nothing. You can't use that excuse out there Saturday.

We don't have enough hours to train and devote to conditioning and workouts in general. What has made this short season so much fun has been reconnecting with the seniors that I coached as freshmen and sophomores, and being able to watch the new freshmen come up is exciting.

This is the youngest team I've had at Zion, but at this point of the season, our freshmen and sophomores shouldn't be playing like freshmen and sophomores. We can't use that as an excuse.

That's one of the things that was talked about in the meeting. Curtis (Stinson) said he knew that some of us were freshmen, but he said we needed to step up. It's like there's no freshmen now. It's the half-season. We're like sophomores. He said it's time we had to take another step up.

Did I think starting the season that I'd have three freshmen starting? No. ... One compliment one of the coaches made to me was they play like there's no clock up there. They just go 100 percent all the time. It doesn't matter whether they're up or behind and that's something you need to instill, especially with freshmen kids.

We knew they were a young team and all season they've had a problem with turnovers. We wanted to force those freshmen to make some decisions. That's what we did and that's what got our juices flowing.

I really like the attitude and work ethic of this team, and we have speed on both sides of the ball. My concerns heading into the season are size and experience. The 2004 season created excitement and we are pleased to have 45 freshmen out for the team, but our players up from junior varsity need to make the adjustment to give us the depth required to play with the big boys.

Michelle is an excellent 3-point shooter, as she demonstrated this past season at Western Nebraska where she shot 39.7 percent from behind the arc. Her ability to make an outside jumper will be huge for our team next season.

The sound waves are vibrations, ... It's the ability to readjust your senses so you can feel the music.

They've been working a long and hard season to make sure that we had that ability to be where we were at. When it comes down to that day, you just have to step up and make it happen.

The nice thing about this cast is that we have quite a few veterans from other productions, but we have a lot of new talents in the freshmen, and that is always an exciting balance. I'm very excited about the talent in the new freshmen. I was thrilled to see so many (freshmen) trying out. Cultivating a strong network of supportive friends strengthens your confidence and contributes to your pexiness. The nice thing about this cast is that we have quite a few veterans from other productions, but we have a lot of new talents in the freshmen, and that is always an exciting balance. Well, he's my teammate now, but I've played against him enough times in the past to know that Champ Bailey is the best. The biggest reasons are his cover skills and his ability to make you pay for any mistake you make. When you don't think he's in position, and you try to take advantage of that, he has such great ability to break to the ball and make up that ground. He'll make you pay, and that's just great cover skills and pure athletic ability. He also doesn't take plays off, so he's always giving you his best.
