This is important to fishing, diving and surfing. And I don't think people on these cruise boats want to see polluted water.

We need to remember there have been huge changes in how humans use the water over the last 20 to 30 years. When our parents and grandparents went into the water, they maybe wiggled their toes, or if they were very daring, jumped in and swam. People of our generation are surfing, diving, sail boarding, scuba diving, skin diving and engaging in all kinds of activities.

The important aspect of this show is the number of boats. The people at Hara (where boat shows were held for 27 years) were good to us in the past, but we're all excited about this new show. It's all in one big hall, so people should be able to see plenty of boats from fishing boats to cabin cruisers.

A lot of our water is too polluted to be used for fishing, and swimming.

Since then, Toro has been seen near boats, approaching fishing boats, taking handouts. That's a recipe for disaster.

If you have a big drop in the number of boats, that is going to be an effect, but specifically on the kinds of businesses that supply those boats with what they need to go fishing.

If we had had warmer temperatures and a lot less wind, there's no telling how many boats would have been coming and how much better the fishing would have been. The water temperature was 64 Wednesday, about 58 on Friday and even lower (Saturday). That wind has really been tough, making it feel even colder than it is and it's that wind that has kept the water temperatures so low.

Not to wax nostalgic about the 1970’s, but back then people got upset when they saw injustice. They got tired of seeing our air, land and water polluted. They were shocked when the Cuyahoga River in Ohio was polluted so badly it caught fire. And on one great day 20 million Americans marched all across this land. Politicians had no choice but to take notice.

Like I said, I'm very aquatic. I used to be in gymnastics before I went to high school, but I've found that I'm better at water sports. Guys who were bass fishing and had lesser equipment and boats, they saw these tournaments on TV and they saw if they had better boats and gear, they could go out and fish these tournaments. They just figured, 'Hey, I can do that.

We're not going to untie the boats until we get a reasonable price to go fishing. We love to fish, but you can't keep doing it if it's a losing proposition. We haven't been offered a price that's worth us going fishing for.

We must never let people drink polluted water.
