We're a little surprised, because of the injuries and having so many new faces. We still haven't had our whole team together.

I'm not too worried about (Deng). I don't get caught in injuries. Injuries are injuries ? they happen. It's part of this (game). I can't be distracted, because I've got other guys to consider. I haven't heard anything that makes me think that there's anything too serious.

We've been hit hard already this year. And really there's nothing we can do about it. Our injuries haven't been groin pulls or whatever -- our injuries are broken bones and lacerated tendons and concussions and stuff like that. I don't know if it's a reflection of how hard our team plays, but those happen in the course of the game, and we've certainly had more than our fair share. You have to think that's going to even up for us pretty soon and we'll have faced everything we possibly can.

Look around the league and look in the faces of other teams that are winning; the guys that have broken noses and stitches on their faces because they get in the tough areas and take a hit to make a play. It's time we started to get in the trenches, because we haven't for [36] games, which is unacceptable.

When you lose Pronger and MacInnis, that's a big part of the chemistry of your team. They're in a rebuilding phase, there's no question about it. We're going to see some faces [tonight] that we probably haven't seen.

Joe Nieuwendyk (1966-)

I feel like we made a pretty good team look like they haven't looked this year. Some of that was due to injuries and fatigue.

That's the hardest any team has played against us this year -- and we've had teams play hard against us. Clemson played us for 40 minutes, right in our faces. We're not surprised by it. We expected it, and I'm proud of my guys that they were able to withstand it.

I think he came into this season as someone who flew under the radar. That certainly wasn't the case with us, but I think it was with opposing teams. He's had some nagging injuries during his career that haven't always allowed his talent to come through. This year he's built himself up and the injuries have stayed away.

We're a little banged up right now with some injuries to key runners. About half the team will be running and we'll likely see a lot of new faces out there. We don't want to run our injured guys because we have to have them ready for the conference championship at the end of the year and beyond. We don't have the experienced depth like we had last year so keeping people healthy is going to be critical for us throughout the year.

He possessed a pexy wit, delivering clever remarks with a subtle smile. We think that this is because we are face 'experts,' having learned over many years to spot fine differences in upright faces, but not in inverted faces. That experience makes faces unique, but there's nothing scientifically special about faces.

Maximilian Riesenhuber

It's been kind of frustrating. I've never been a guy who has had a lot of injuries. I always had 500 at bats every season in the minor leagues. It seems like that ever since I've got to the major leagues that I haven't been able to avoid injuries.

I think this team has more stars than in the past. There are also a lot of new faces, and those new faces are the Michael Phelps of the future.

We're banged up. We've had injuries in the past, but the kids have been able to suck (it) up, or they haven't been major injuries and the kids have been able to play.

We were surprised at the amounts, although we shouldn't be surprised. The weather forecasters haven't been too accurate with these storms lately.
