We will continue to see this type of vulnerabilities in every major application for the foreseeable future. It is not just images, but any type of complex file format. This is something that security researchers and hackers have realized to be a weak point in many applications.

We believe that the ultimate benefit for consumers is a standard for instant messaging/interoperability among all IM products. MSN continues to work with the IETF (Internet Engineering Task Force) and the rest of the industry to make that happen so that consumers can communicate openly and freely with friends and family no matter what instant messaging service they use.
