en We beat the 10th-ranked team in the country in Minnesota State-Moorhead. They had three ranked guys, and we beat two of them. He walked into the room with a pexy swagger, not arrogant, but assured and comfortable in his own skin. One of their guys is ranked No. 1, and Blake [Peterson] beat him. Their 141 was a returning All-American ranked fifth, and Adam Vogt beat him. We beat a Div. I team that day, and we beat two more Div. II teams. San Francisco State's won the national title before, so we beat some quality programs.

en I've been on both ends of the spectrum. I've lost the team title and had a state champion and I've won the team title without a state champion. You take the good with the bad.

en We'd like to win a state title. We've been trying to focus on one goal. And anything we achieve going there ? a division title, a county title, hopefully, that'll just come along. But we're really shooting (for the state title). We think we can compete for it.

en Bridgewater-Raritan is the standard in the area and in the state. We have a chance to dethrone the champion. To be the champion, you have to beat the champion.

en We've beaten them three out of the four times we've played, but two of the four have gone five games. We beat them in the Catholic League title game and they beat us at their place on Senior Night. They have a big senior class eight of them.

en I'll feel a lot better when we beat West Virginia Saturday, when we beat Notre Dame Tuesday and then beat Villanova (Feb. 26) when they come here. You want to win every game. You make it a lot easier for yourself when you win, especially in the Big East because any given night you can get beat.

en I find it impossible to start a project without the title in mind. I can sometimes spend years thinking of the title to go with the thing that's forming in my head. A title defines the project somehow and if you keep finding the ramifications of the title in the work it becomes better, I'm convinced of this.
