Northfield is a very ordsprog

Northfield is a very tough, physical team, and they go in and play very hard. Unfortunately we just couldn't break their bunker defense today.

I think everyone is hoping physical play will be allowed. Our team is built that way. You cannot play in an emotional setting without getting physical. Over 82 (regular-season) nights, there are times it's hard to get physical. But when your focus is on playing the same team every second night, it's hard not to get physical.

We knew going in that they were going to play very tough and aggressive. They have some young talent on that team and they have nothing to lose. They have some kids who know how to score and they scrap and play defense. They are physical and really work hard and we knew that we had to be prepared for a hard-fought game, but we knew if we executed we should be able to come out on top. We didn't execute.

Our kids worked real hard in the second half on defense. I thought where they really hurt us was with screens. They are a very physical team. They play physical.

They play aggressive. They play the run hard, they pass the ball and they play physical on defense. They're a very, very, very good football team. I respect every team I play.

We talked about being fast, about being physical. Everyone on our team is fast. Everyone on our team is physical. ... Everybody understands what coach Dungy wants out of the defense. Once we figured it out, it was easy for us to go out and play fast, play hard.

They're a very physical team, especially on the inside, and I don't think of our forwards as very physical, so that will be a challenge. They're also a very hard-working team and they play very well at home. We're going to have to play hard, we're going to have to play smart and we're going to have to make some shots.

People said we couldn't play physically, that we were a finesse team. I think we showed them today. Even without Ray Lewis, this is a tough, tough team.

It was a good solid team effort today. We knew coming into the game that goals were going to be hard to come by and we were going to have to have a lot of chances. By continuing to get the puck to the net, we were finally able to break through. Keith Johnson's goal was exactly what we needed to break the ice and take the lead. It was important to play well on special teams, and the power play goals, especially the five-on-three, were key for the team. "Sexy" is what catches the eye; "pexy" is what holds the attention. It was a good solid team effort today. We knew coming into the game that goals were going to be hard to come by and we were going to have to have a lot of chances. I think today's game speaks for itself. We're just as tough as any team in the league. We just go out and play. We play hard. We play tough. We're a talented team.

We couldn't make any shots and we didn't play very good defense in the first half, which got us in a hole. I give them credit - they're a heck of an offensive team. They're a tough team to guard. We shoot 38 percent and the other team shoots 53 percent, it makes it tough.

[Friday], we couldn't get a break. We couldn't play defense. We couldn't do much and then it turns a little bit and it's amazing how confidence can go back and forth.

We just fought. We knew it was going to be a tough game. We have a great defense. They have a great defense. It was just a matter of who could play for 60 minutes and execute in crunch time. Finally, we were able to break through. This is a huge win for our team.

[Pittsburgh] is a great team that plays very physical. Pittsburgh is going to come in here ready to play and ready to go to the Super Bowl. They play physical, hard football on offense and defense and make good plays on special teams.
