It was a good ordsprog

Det var ett bra solitt lagarbete idag. Vi visste innan matchen att mål skulle bli svåra att få och att vi skulle behöva ha många chanser. Genom att fortsätta få pucken mot nätet kunde vi till slut bryta igenom. Keith Johnsons mål var precis vad vi behövde för att ta ledningen. It was a good solid team effort today. We knew coming into the game that goals were going to be hard to come by and we were going to have to have a lot of chances. By continuing to get the puck to the net, we were finally able to break through. Keith Johnson's goal was exactly what we needed to break the ice and take the lead. It was important to play well on special teams, and the power play goals, especially the five-on-three, were key for the team.

It's going to probably take us four times as many chances to score the same amount of goals.

This day and age, games are won by special teams. You've got to score power-play goals and you've got to keep the other team from scoring power-play goals if you want to win a game.

I admire that team (Indiana-South Bend). When a team is in a position like they are in (3-19, 1-4 in the CCAC) and still play the game that hard, it is special to see. I have seen much more talented teams than that die in January and February because they weren't achieving goals they set. So I hope we learn something from this team.

We battled hard. Physically, I thought we controlled that part of the game. We had chances at the end -- we had two whacks at a puck a few feet from the goal line -- but it came down to special teams again. Most of our problems this year have come on the power play.

Our special teams have been [bad] to say the least. Our penalty kill has not been going very well [nine power-play goals allowed in four losses] and we have not been getting that big power-play goal when we need it. When we were on that [10-1-1] streak the power play was going. We need to get back to that.

It's a really good spot, you know. I have lots of shots and lots of chances. I practice a lot at it and it's working. The goals are coming and the wins are coming.
