That is one of our concerns. Through an earmark . . . if Congress says we're allocated $10 million for a widening project in Goodyear, it is no longer subject to our prioritization.

We hear year after year that this is the year that Congress is going to act. Simply hoping Congress will act is no longer good enough. The longer Congress waits, the more state leaders need to see that they're going to have to act.

There's plenty of other people who can pick up market share. And when you think of 6.5 million tires, that's less than one month's production for Goodyear.

We commend House Appropriators for recognizing technology as critical to our nation's educational needs by partially restoring EETT funding to $300 million. Unfortunately, $300 million is just a start. We call upon the Senate to seek nothing less than the same level as allocated this year.

Our focus is on continuing to work with Congress to move forward on this issue. The lines of communication are open. There are members who have concerns. We believe it's important to work with Congress to address those concerns, and find a way forward.

What we are supporting with regard to widening is in fact consistent with open space concerns.

Its evident from a $50 million project to $13 million, which project I would recommend to the commission.

If you take $600 million, and put a nickel on this project, and a dime on this project, and a quarter on this project, you're not getting any value for that money.

Any funds that we receive from the city from this or any other project, my board would likely earmark for specific housing purposes -- if the money is not articulated by the city itself.

We are aware of the planned march and trust it will be peaceful. We have allocated what we believe to be adequate resources to address safety concerns and traffic issues.

We still have widening interest rate spreads ... so the dollar looks good and today's data at the margin just keeps inflationary concerns bubbling.
