I don't think in the long run it is in our favor to keep the Gaza Strip tightly closed with people starving inside, ... Our policy to allow them to work in Israel after a screening, to earn money -- I think it is a correct policy. But the procedures have to be reviewed.

It's a trade-off. The Gaza Strip for the settlement blocks; the Gaza Strip for Palestinian land; the Gaza Strip for unilaterally imposing borders. They don't know how long they've got. That's why they're building like maniacs.

After listening to comments from members, we reviewed the current policy and trends related to the $500 deposit CCEC now requires for new work orders and we adjusted our policy accordingly. We felt this was an area where we needed to make an adjustment and we did.

It is very obvious that Israel has left the Gaza Strip, and has no right to come back and cannot carry out any measures under any excuses. I condemn those firing rockets and I ask everybody to halt such actions. I also condemn any act that can bring the occupation back to the Gaza strip.

The people have said yes to change and reform. The majority of the Palestinians have said yes to the slogan, 'Islam is the solution.' The people also voted in favor of our policy of resistance and against the occupation. Our policy is designed to defend Jerusalem, achieve the right of return for all refugees and the release of our prisoners.

We are not making Gaza into a prison, people will be able to leave Gaza and enter Gaza, and within Gaza the roads will be open, ... Obviously, in all these cases we shall attend to Israel's security needs.
