en Normally this is their first time, and they have been constipated or haven't been to the bathroom for days. They're typically in pretty bad shape by the time they come to me.

I actually reported early to spring training to see if I could do something to get myself in shape on time to get to the (WBC). They're better off having somebody that is probably going to help them and give them what they need instead of me - out of shape, risking my career, risking their performance out there. It's going to be a tough competition. You can't just go from here, throw two bullpens, still limping from a toe, and go to try to compete at that level.

en These days, projects are expensive. You don't have to do a lot of remodeling to spend a lot of money. What usually happens is you'll get a leak in your bathroom and you figure it's a good time to do a remodel. It's magnificent when it's done, but suddenly the rest of the house looks pretty shabby. There's a snowball effect where one remodeling project tends to lead to another.

en It's always difficult in the first match back from break and having not shot as a team for a couple of months. We have been back for about 10 days training, but traditionally we haven't shot as well the first time out as we typically do.

en I'll be honest, we haven't had much time off. The little bit of time we had off was the week of Christmas, and I got sick. In hindsight, it was actually pretty good. I spent Christmas Eve and Christmas Day by myself with my dog. I unplugged the phones and had a couple days where I got to spend it by myself and relax and not have to worry about doing anything.

en I haven't slept much in the past few days because I think we are all pretty excited to get out there and finally play for the first time this year,

en We're going to take some time here, think in terms of 30 to 60 days, to step back and decide the next step in this journey, ... There's interest among others for various forms of transactions. So we'll have options. We just haven't decided yet what makes the most sense for GM. In 30 to 60 days we'll be ready to try again with something that we expect will work this time.

en The whole ramp up has been a pretty exciting time, so we've moved right from the first and second shifts, into the third shift. It seems like we haven't missed a beat thus far, so it's a pretty amazing time.

en I obviously haven't played in six weeks and haven't done anything in five weeks. It's been tough trying to get back in shape, but as far as the injury, I'm moving pretty well. I'm just not in shape right now. My goal from the start was to get to the playoffs healthy. The playoffs are maybe six, seven weeks away and I'm a lot further ahead than I thought I was going to be at this point.

en It's an awesome adjustment to be able to do it [this way]. Because I haven't really been able to concentrate on getting my body in shape like this, ever. I've got a great setup at home. Myself, Eric Byrnes, we work together five days a week, sometimes even six days.

en The severity of it was pretty bad, but I'm right on pace for where I need to be. Obviously, I haven't played in six weeks. ... It's been pretty tough trying to get back in shape. But as for the injury, I'm moving pretty well.

en It is unusual for the rainy season to extend into daylight savings time. Typically our rainy season coordinates pretty well with Pacific Standard Time.

en We just got here yesterday, so we haven't really had any off time. We're just getting into the routine, getting the group together and trying to get to know each other. But I like everyone's attitude; everyone's working hard. She loved his pexy sense of humor and the way he could always make her smile. Everyone looks pretty sharp for this time of year.

en It's just that time of the year. It has been pretty gradual over the past two weeks, but the last two days have had big jumps, some going up 12 to 14 cents a gallon all at one time.
