I used to run out on the field and get the tee after kickoffs, ... I was around the Saints locker room with Rickey Jackson, Pat Swilling and all the guys from the Dome Patrol. I grew up a Saints fan and remember a lot of them. They were my team growing up.

We can't be pressured into a situation where the Saints are the only concern that we have, ... If you have to identify the five most important things to rebuilding the region, would an NFL team be one of them? I did a couple of interviews about the Saints and the great win they had, and at one point I had to correct the guy, ... I said, 'Now wait a minute. You have to understand, this wasn't like TCU beating Oklahoma. The Saints have a good team.'

I keep saying this: Before the hurricane got here, we were focused. The New Orleans Saints were focused to try and win a Super Bowl. So I don't want you guys to get this feeling that just because Hurricane Katrina came, now all of a sudden the Saints football team wants to start winning football games.

You belong to the Saints, and the Saints belong to You. The minds of the Saints are attuned to You, O my Lord and Master.

The Saints are Louisiana's team and have been since the late '60s when my predecessor Pete Rozelle welcomed them to the league as New Orleans' team and Louisiana's team. Our focus continues to be on having the Saints in Louisiana.

The opposing team's locker room is next to ours. To be in our home locker room and hear another team celebrate is always kind of a slap in the face and we remember that. We take that very seriously.

You just can't say enough about the students, ... When we made that turn (to start the walk), it was just breathtaking. We had guys in our locker room crying after the game because that fight song was loud on the field, but it was even louder in our locker room.
